The more I'm watching it, the more I'm warming to it. Peter is definitely outlandish but there's a sincerity to it that I didn't find with Bell in USM or Holland in CW. Could be my Yuri Lowenthal bias talking but as long as he calms and isn't constantly high octane, I'll definitely give it a shot.

I also can confirm it feeling similar to Ben 10.

My god they made Peter annoying... like the reason he's socially awkward is because he's annoying and obnoxious to be around, like Spongebob or something. He's interrupting people, repeating what that scientist said out loud at the same time he's talking.


Also he has his powers that quick after the spider bite? (I'm probably nit-picking there but man that felt...rushed.) This show isn't impressing me...

can't unsee that now... the show seems ok-ish, I'll give it a try, but The Spectacular Spider-Man raised the bar very high.

I know that the teacher is Smythe, I was referring to the bearded scientist who is voiced by Steve Blum. Blum has a history of voicing Goblins in Spider-Man adaptations so I figured maybe he's Norman.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who thinks so. The enthusiasm is there but he came of as a know it all try hard. Or even trying too hard to sound smart when asked his name at the front.

Also is it just me, or did Alistair Smythe look more like Harry Osborn than Harry Osborn did? I mean I'm not one to whine about character designs... and I liked the race sending of minor characters in Spectacular Spidey, and some I even preferred (as you can see by my avatar, black Roderick Kingsley was the [censored] to me) but that was like a "Gwen Brant" moment when they were standing next to each other...

Nice to know I'm not the only one who found Peter annoying in that clip. Kept cringing whenever he interrupted the scientist. Also, Peter looks like Harry Potter lol

Spectacular will remain the best I think. Why can't they bring it back? Marvel and Sony are working together on the film so why can't they sort something out and bring a 3rd season out? Put it on Disney XD or something.
