New Superman Retuns: TMG interview.

Wow......I was reading this thread up until it became a discussion on Superman Returns and X3, 5 PAGES LATER and its still going...

about the GAME though, does anyone know if there'll be a new Krypton in the game, cause lifting it doesnt seem very game-worthy.

Maybe you'll have to mash the A button really, really hard or something.

The game looks pretty sweet.....I saw an advert promo in a comic recently, and the game producer said that if you're fighting say, parasite, you can throw a flammable tanker at him and explode it with your heat vision as it's on top of him. and if a building catches on fire because of it you can go and air lift a fire engine to the scene who will put it out (or use ice breath).

If they can pull this off, the game will be helluva lot of fun.

superman returns was unmitigated crap.

i can't wait for next year, when spidey 3 shows how super-hero movies are done right.

as for x3, it was a whole lot more entertaining than SR.

U can go on FOREVER about witch movie was better, in the end, everyone wins because its THEIR OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!! I for one LOVED SR and XMEN. I though both were Oscar worthy. As for SR teh game, it IS going to be KICK ASS(imo)!!!!!!

Im still not convinced the game will be great... It sure looks like the best Superman game so far... But thats not saying a whole lot :(

Should be fun though

I'm really hoping for just a fun sandbox game, because frankly every game thats used this design has been ruined by the missions, (spider-man 2), I wish he could fly to space though :(

I doubt it... Not before the game is released anyway.

Yeah, this game will suck, just like Spiderman 2 did. A ****ty game with a comic book character running around in it is still a ****ty game guys, sorry, but it is. You'll be spending the whole game going through the boring, ****ty story, doing the same boring ass "save the kids balloon" missions thousands of times, all so you can progress further into the big mass of boredom you paid $59.99 for. Because you saw him in a comic this one time. Wow.

Not if Superman is in a mall filled with Zombies. :o

And instead of superman he's a photographer who hits zombies with everyday house hold objects he finds in the mall.

Sandbox games usually work, and with Superheroic powers, it should work extra well. I'm pretty convinced this game will get at least a 7.5 from Gamespot, and it's a sure-by for me.

Sandbox games DON'T usually work, the only games that have really worked even sort of well are Fable, which wasn't much of a sandbox to begin with, the elder scrolls up until recently, which wasn't much of a sandbox until Morrowind, and Grand Theft Auto, which didn't really work to be anything but mediocre until San Andreas, and even that was only 7-8 out of ten, and with the track record of super hero games combined with this, you're going to have to be the kind of person that gets joy just from SEEING superman to enjoy this game. We have quite a few like that here, sadly, but that doesn't change anything, this game is still going to be bad.

I really liked X-Men 3 because it was fun.
I really couldn't care less that "IT ANALLY RAPED THE CHARACTERS, I F***ING HATE IT, DIEEE RATNER!"...it was a fun movie. Just having Kelsey Grammer as Beast makes it even better.

I loved Superman Returns because it was a great movie, it had few action sequences, but they were amazing, and the acting and story were just great.
The music was beautiful. The movie made me cry a bit, and I felt goosebumps during the Airplance rescue sequence. Call it nostalgia, I don't care. It was freaking great.
that basically sums it up, although i should add that X3 as a movie was crap, but quite entertaining, much like POTC2.

The teaser gave me the feeling that Superman Returns was about to be the greatest movie ever made, but it turned out being a great movie that didn't quite give Superman the rich majesty that the teaser generated.

I think that Superman is going to someday need a story that really does view him as the unstoppable savior of DC's earth, instead of always having this Lois Lane/Clark Kent stuff going on, and writers holding back on spectacular scenes of power.

In the teaser, every shot was beautiful, and the Brando voice-over was biblical and powerful.

The movie didn't quite seem to reach that. Superman often seemed weak. While Superman is indeed the nicest man alive, and the perfect role model, we see that his absense has left his world falling apart in ways he can't/won't fix, even by the end of the movie. Lois is still with Richard, and Jason is still a... lacking child. It had a very wierd way of making Superman seem weak, despite the amazing action scenes, he just seemed weak in this movie.

Still a great movie, I'm hoping to see it again tomorrow.

Agreed. Everything you said is exactly how i feel. When i first saw the teaser the scenes shown the music playing the backround and the voice of Brando really gave me a chill up my spine. The effect it had on me really made me think it was going to be the ideal Superman film for the hero who hasn't been on screen for more than a decade. It's just when the full trailer came out is when that feeling i got wasn't the same. It just looked to be another superhero film. With someone like Superman, he has to be actually saving and taken doen big threats. Though the plane scene was awesome we could have gotten alot more action. Superman should've been kicking ass and taken names. With the story of him dealing with Lois etc, we've seen it so many times. I wanted a bit more than what we got but still Singer and crew did an amazing job and i thought Brandon was Superman.

For the sequel, now that everything is established, they need to raise the bar alot higher. I saw SR 3 times and i'll for sure see it a fourth.

Spider-Man does own when it comes to comic films, but as for X3, it had so many flaws and cheap dialouge. It's not realy whether the action in a film is good or not it's if the story is great and can hold up an audience. So mnay X fans didn't like the direction X3 went and neither did it suit with critics. The correct statement is SR was alot better than X3.

Anyway, lets not get this thread off topic. That's why X3 and SR have their own forums.

the reason everyone thought it would be the best movie was because the 2 things that were great about the movie were in the trailer: Williams Theme and Brando

The trailer also had really rich imagery, from young Clark Kent arching across the sun in a cornfield, to Superman flying through clouds, to Superman calmly hovering in space.

and that was about the only rich imagery in the whole movie, cus it certainly wasn't that crap filled kryptonite land that luther expected hundreds of people to pay for

Yeah, the airplane scene and bullets bouncing off of his eye were pretty weak compared to teh orgasm that was X-men 3, and I couldn't believe how stupid the revisioning the Fortress of Solitude was. No floating heads?!?!?!
