New Wizard Raimi interview

wtf?? Whats so hard to understand?? He hates Peter. Its not that hard.

By "understand" he probably means developed an affinity for the character.

By understand, I think he means what is so appealing about the character. And I can certainly understand where he's coming from.

Raimi just doesn't get Venom. Venom should perhaps have been held back for a director who appreciates him (and not just the $$$ he'll bring to the franchise).

I wish Eddie Brock/Venom would have been saved. Harry and Sandman are more than enough for Peter/Spider-Man to handle. I don't like when a director's original vision or story for a movie is compromised(which seems to be the case here with Avi "pushing" Raimi to include Venom). I would have preferred to have seen Raimi's originally intended Spider-Man 3 without the interference from Avi.

sam said he started to like venom while he was filming the movie. avi arad told sam that they can not just do the villians that they want but they have to do the villians that we want too. i think sam did a great job in creating venom and his origin.

you haven't seen the movie, venom, or his origin...

Why, the comics didn't seem to understand Venom for close to 20 years, and just published a bunch of crap stories to make $$$?

Somehow i'm not sure about the Arad part :cwink:.

Did not Raimi say that he grew up on the villians of the seventies?? Like Doc Ock, GG, Vulture, Sandman etc.??

Fair enough. But a big screen movie casts even a wider net than the comics. And to have the director actively dislike and not understand one of the principal characters within the movie unnerves me. I can't help but think he'll do something to screw over Venom either in characterization, screentime, his look, or, of course, killing the guy off.

I hate you slmon, why dont you just wait till the movie comes out before you talk ****. Skeptic *****!

that is what sam said. sam said he tried to stay true to venom comic books.

I forget where, but I do remember Raimi saying that Sergeant and Grace made the experience very pleasant.

Well, from what we know thus far, Topher said that Venom loves being bad/evil, and I believe Tobey said that Venom is faster, stronger and vicious with all of Spidey's powers. That pretty much sums up Venom's characterization in a nutshell. And his look, you've seen the leaked trailer by now.

Screentime, you already know that that's limited, and the Q & A said Eddie Brock dies. Which doesn't make any sense on a business level to the franchise, because with a dead Eddie Brock, you can never bring back Venom to future films. Unless Sony/Marvel realize by now, that killing Eddie Brock (after all the Venom uprising) could mean never returning the character to the big screen in his own movie, which could be very profitable for another future Spidey film for SM5-SM6.

maybe he does not die though. even if brock dies the symbiote will live. speaking of brocks death....i was thinking that... remember in issue # 300 how brock fell from the bell tower and hit the ground and was knocked out?, well i was thinking that if brock does die then they should have him fall from the construction site and die when he hits the ground. then the symbiote crawls into the sewer.

we do not even know for sure if brock dies. the Q&A said that it is the end of the road for brock. venom has 10 minutes of screentime but that could be one of the reasons why the final battle will be the biggest battle of them all so that we get a good dose of venom. only time will tell.

But if Brock is dead...Venom is dead. Even with the symbiote surviving, they can only put Carnage in a future movie, but no Venom.

carnage will defenitley not be in a spidey movie. he is way too violent and is just a more violent and red venom. carnage should never be introduced. there is no conclusion to brocks death yet. we will not know until we see the movie.

If Marvel and Sony want him in the movie...then you'll see Carnage.

he really is not a big character and most fans do not like him because he is just a rip off of venom, which he is. my second reason why he probably will not be in a spidey movie is because sam probably hates carnage. he is a not a good villian. it is sam's choice though. i know he would make the right one though.

In the meantime, the Q & A says Eddie Brock is a dead man walking...

that must mean brock will die. it is highly unlikley he will not.
