Yeah, that's the general theory in how she could easily be brought back in that it will be her House of M counterpart and not the original Illyana.

I don't care which Illyana comes back, any variation of her is good for me! I do miss the one from the NM, but the HoM one (which I'm sure is her) would be great to have... as long as they don't kill her off like they love to do. I'm having a Welcom Back party for her, and everyone's invited.

I for one am SO freakin' excited to see OTHER students on a cover! AND This sounds like a very interesting issue...although I was hoping they went to purgatory/limbo for Laurie...hmm maybe they go looking for Magik and find her instead!!!

But yeah, I am so excited! Giddy like a schoolgirl!

For real, why? I wasn't a big fan of Mercury, Rockslide, or Hellion, but when they got pushedto the forefront and all of my favorites died, were depowered, or cast away, I still read it, and it was still a good book.

It's a pretty stupid reason, really. Around the end of Defilippis and Weir's run, they Introduced Laurie's father (Kevin's Doctor), who has the same powers as her, and was gonna work at the school. I didn't like him, I felt they were gonna do with him what I've seen before, and I was gonna drop the book right there and then. I mean, he's the reason the new mutants were fighting with each other mostly. (Another reason was becaue Kevin was a ***** and Josh was an *******) Luclily I didn't have to drop it, or want to... Until HOM Happened.

In HOM, they showed Laurie and her father exactly in the way I did not want to see in this book. I hate traitor stories because there's always a traitor story.

Then Decimation happened... breath of fresh air, new art, new writers, I loved it. Hell, I even liked Laurie a little (You couldn't help but feel bad for her because of her arm) But she got shot in the head. I was shocked, really. Not even happy. I never wanted that to happen, but once it did, I wanted it to stick. If there was any character I wanted to die, it would have been Julian.

I'm hoping Illyana sticks around. I have been holding on to this resentment for damn near 20 years! And the entire time I've been teased my marvel with cameos of various Magiks. Even the original writer of NM Inferno wrote that she intended for her to return. If anyone ever had a most realistic return (considering it's a comic) it's Yana. With her powers and the mechanics of Limbo, there are infinite means for her return excluding HoM entirely. So hopefully my letter writing campaign has spark something that will turn into a blaze. Ruth at uncannyxmen.net has helped me a lot and I'm hoping others will see that she is a kick ass character with an appealing attitude. She's the idea good/bad girl.

Blasphemy! Julian is the BEST character in this title since it started. I love that C&C kept him but hate that they have downgraded his role. He was more of a major character when N&C were in charge

I haven't read that run, but he's been pretty important under Kyle and Yost (is there some dictate that this series must always have two writers?), especially recently, during NIMROD and Mercury Falling.

I like him NOW, but he WAS like one of those guys in school that, if I were crazy, would lead me to bring a gun to school and shoot him.

He was leader of the squad but they downgraded him. He had that romance with the other leader, Sofia who was a main character and Hellion was pretty much frontburner. His role has definetly been diminshed. I mean he's still there, but his presence isnt as prevalent as it used to be.

they definitely didn't downgrade him... before, he was the leader of the RIVAL squad of the new mutants. the comic was still prominintely about the new mutants, not the hellions. sure, he was there, but usually only to piss them off or hit up sofia...

now it seems like he is MORE on the frontline, because he's actually part of the new x-men

and on top of that, a whole bunch of his friends just died so that might have something to do with him 'not being an ass' but i still think he's got his old charm........

Speaking of, does anyone else not like the fact that Julian has made essentialy NO refrences to Sofia, who was a pretty big important component of his character? She needs to come back. Powered or not, at least for an arc or something.

In all honesty, I haven't picked up this book in a very long time, and the last time I saw him was during a cameo sequence in the Supernova arc (in adjectiveless), where he was in his normal rocky hide.

... So tell me, what happened?

He was blown up by Nimrod, and reformed with a little help from Hellion, and that is how he came out of it....with the new look.
