Comics New X-Men: Academy X

Yes, they really overrate themselves, the book's not that good right now. I just hope somebody will do something with Sofia, she's an amazing character.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this Magik arc

Considering they were going to shoot her in the head rather than Laurie, don't hold your breath.

God, I'm still happy they shot Laurie in the head. This is why I like certain comics, Because anything can happen. This is my second favorite x-book. (Obviously, as said before, X-Factor holds the number 1 spot... so far.)

Well, I didn't mean these crappy writers, I meant someone else. A lot of mutants are getting re-powered somehow, I just want Sofia to be one of them

Sub-par creative team aside, they've got some cool things planned for the team in the future. Hope they're executed well.

sweet jesus, i just looked at that scottie young art and... no offense, but i would rather take my money and throw it into random garbages cans then spend it on that ****.

half my friends draw better then that guy

im so happy i dont read this pure junk anymore

^I like it too....nice to see something different. This is quickly becoming my number 3 book (after Astonishing and X-men)....

*reads the interviews*

I was thinking about jumping back on board for the Majik arc, but it nows appears that Kyle and Yost will first need to kiss my grits.

Things change, from concept to execution. In our initial pitch, it was Sofia – not Laurie – that died from a sniper’s bullet.

THOSE JERKS! I mean...I love Sofia, but hearing that just makes me so angry...because Laurie COULD have lived!

Regardless, I am very excited for the future of this book.

You know, I am really looking forward to this next arc. I come at it at a different angle than most of you, I started reading during their run - and I love it!

dang were they really gonna kill Sofia off. Ive asked them about her and they said they have no plans of using her in the future. I was upset at first but kinda glad bc that means they likely wont kill her off

That second interview really was annoying. Rather high on themselves aren't they?

Am I the only one who wishes they had killed Sofia off instead of Wallflower? I think it would have had more of an impact, as she was more of a main character. Wallflower always had more long term potential in my opinion. Sofia was around a lot, but she never really DID anything of importance. Although, whatever, they're both gone anyways.

Just finished #36; another good issue.

The writers still practice a lot of Claremont's classic practices, such as a number of ongoing threads that intermittently picked up or left off, rearing their heads unexpectedly. This is their fourth major story arc, and there are still seeds from the original "crusade" of Reverend Stryker, to which a new wrinkle, what the Reverend called "the Anti-Christ", has been added (based on the epilogue, I'm guessing it's Magik).
It's nice to see the X-Men win a fight fairly convincingly without too much fuss, although, in the tradition of such stories, a number of guys/things escape to come back and trouble Our Heroes later.
The writers even remember Colossus' own recent experiences and give him a suitable comment about the nature of the Facility.
It's sad to see Paco Medina, the perfect art guy for this title, leave for another job; I'm still undecided based on what I've seen of his replacement.

The best lines:

Rockslide: Dude! There's evil robot grizzly bears in here! That rules!

Elixir: I'm here, Julian. Don't be scared.
Hellion: Do I look scared, %*@&$?

*sigh* Now there's the Hellion that I hate and want dead. God, If I ever write an x-book, and he's alive, I will kill him.

I pray to God that you never write an X book

Loved that Josh was there alongside the rest of the team. He really needs to be featured more.

I didnt like how Medina drew Magik, but this is his last issue and hopefully I will like how she's drawn by the next artist

:woot:

I keep hearing this is his last issue. So that young guy isn't a fill-in?

The only thing I liked about this last issue was the 1st epilogue, the one where Emma was talking to the woman (if you've read it you know what happens and who's that woman, i'm too lazy right now to put a spoiler tag lol). And the 2nd epilogue was cool as a set up, but the rest was IMO a crappy issue to add to the pile of crap these writers are doing.

I still have some faith put in the next arc. I just love Magik and I wanna see her meeting her brother Piotr again.

I'm typically not much on Young, but I actually like his take on these characters. I'm okay with him being on. And Spoons... he did draw Runaways in the Runaways/X-Men one shot for the last Free Comic Book Day (in the 2nd Runaways hardcover also).

And just for the record, though I was upset at first about all the death, I've grown to like and anticipate the book more now than ever. I was even looking through the original writers books the other day and found them rather boring, though some of the characters I missed were there, overall the book felt lacking. I like it now.

Wait, that was who drew that?? Oy.

And I feel exactly the same way about the book now and then.
