Comics New X-Men: Academy X

I was also really glad they showed Doc Strange in this last issue. I've been thinking this whole time how insane it is that Strange wouldn't be aware of Bellaso's tampering.

then it could be that they got the variant cover artist wrong
I don't think so. Campbell's been working with Marvel again, so it makes sense they'd give him some cover projects, and his name's attached to a bunch of solicitations, just like Finch's.

In the November solicitations that my good double Spoons posted, X-Men 205 doesn't even have cover art attached yet. Why's it so hard to believe that they attached promo art to New X-Men 44, as opposed to a cover?

MESSIAH COMLPEX – PART 4 of 13

The New X-Men have been ordered to remain at the mansion while the more experienced teams search for the abducted mutant baby. But the last generation of mutants isn’t content on the sidelines, launching a sneak attack on the Purifiers instead. But have they confronted an enemy that’s out of their league? 3

Yeah, they look ridiculous. And I still hate the fact that Pixie's wings suddenly went from nice looking butterfly wings to ripped up fly wings. So dumb.

Her whole character got the Hot Topic makeover. I wonder if she'll still be naive and innocent like she should be.

Surge's gauntlets are different, Tory! Geez, pay attention!

Sheesh, the New X-Men go for the non-anorexic (I jest, I <3 Skottie's art, but I don't mind the change) team look and people still complain!

That's it, where's AntiBastard? :cmad:

Surge just had the gauntlets and oversized boots look goin for her.

And looked like a freakish zombie-creature when Skottie drew her.

I dunno, just from that promo pic, I'm going to have to say that Ramos is probably going to be my favorite artist on this title since Mark What'shisname.

Ten bucks says the interiors look a whole lot different than that cover, since more detail and care tends to go into the covers rather than the interiors, especially when Ramos is involved.

Stop whining. They look cool.
how the heck can they walk with those things? It looks especially ridiculous on X-23. Her feet claws wont be as effective in those space suit boots. The gauntlets are just way to big.

The costumes are heavily influenced by Gen X. I only wish Ramos had kept the proportions to a reasonable level without making the gauntlets and boots so huge like with the Gen X kids

Not really. His X-Men interiors have been equal with his covers. The only real difference is panel work in interiors vs. no panel work on covers.

But, again, I like Ramos. And I like his work. I like the quasi-caricature and mega-cartoony nature of the pencils. On X-Men, and probably moreso on New X-Men. If he was going for realism, there'd be a problem. He's not, and that makes the gauntlets and boots not a problem. At least in my eyes.

And I still say that's not the cover. If Marvel has said that Finch is doing all the covers, it makes since that Campbell will be doing (almost) all the variants. I can see them changing that for a guy like Silvestri (Uncanny variant), but not for the guy doing interiors.

*sigh*...how i miss that team....The title died a slow death after Lobdell left and after bachelo left as the artist

I'm pretty sure that we who read the title already knew who he was.

...And for those that don't read this title on a regular basis (like me), or have the means to look up this information on your own (like some of you), it's nice to know that someone cared enough to post the information about the character. :cmad:
