i agree...this team is really interesting now...i was thinking since David had the ability to learn other abilities..would he still have those memories even if he is depowered, cuz if so..that alone justifies his place on the team

No he doesnt retain them. When he first appeared he was a studyholic and did so to make up for the fact taht he doesnt retain andy skills or knowledge he gets when not around the person he got them from

oh...well...in that case...i see no reason for him to be around then...perhaps he should join S.H.I.E.L.D

He's still an interesting character in my book. They just have to actually utilize him. If he's hanging out on the sidelines, then there's no point.

I dont see David as being that much of a liabilty as his powers werent that impressive at all. As far as offense goes. he didnt gain any strength, speed or level of invulnerablilty with them. All he did was gain the fighting skills of those he faced up against, assuming the opponent had much skills. And as far as defense, he gained any knowledge they had. Overall, not that impressive and there really shouldnt be too much of a difference between him powered or not. He can study and train to be a good fighter. He's not much more of a liability now than he was before M Day. Thats why I thought him losing powers was a bit of a copout as it didnt really change much as far as he went

So when's the next issue come out? I'm in Italy for *eek* four months! So I'm gonna miss stuff!

UGH GET THEM OUT OF LIMBO AND PUT THEM ON SOME COOL MISSIONS. the limbo arc had SO much potential and ive gotta be honest, it kinda sucked. i take that back, it really sucked. i really love this series too, ive been following it since issue one, so i hope it heads back on the upcurve.

Well, I think the next two issues are the much needed down issues, then all hell is gonna break loose with the crossover.

Actually, that article stated that the team that they would be revealing would NOT have anything to do with Cable, so she'll be on something completely different. I also managed to save those pics, I'll rehost them and put them back up in the event thread.

Mercury's not hard to see. Even on the smaller pic she could be picked out easily. Rockslide isn't as fluid as she is, considering, well, he's a rock. A big ol' rock.

And Dust's neck isn't twisted 180 degrees. Her hand is drawn incorrectly. Well, I think so. I don't think that's her backside, and I think she's twisting (meaning it should be her right arm and we shouldn't be seeing her fingers), but I suppose I could be mistaken. Though, I suppose if I'm wrong, and that is her backside, her neck isn't drawn wrong. I can turn my head far enough to make that pose work (well, more or less). Not good for everyday practicality, but great for a pose! And the "more or less" works, because I don't think anyone's ever described Ramos as a realist when it comes to his work.

No, her hand isn't drawn wrong. her body is turned sideways (facing our right). Her left arm is back (that is the hand you see that you thought was a backwards right hand). Her right arm is slightly forward, pointed down and right...but you can't see it because it has turned to dust (you can see a few specks of dust to her right, and then following that you can see a huge dust cloud in the bottom right corner of the page...which could only come from her.

All I hope is that this title still exists after the Messiah CompleX and that it retains similiar characters and a similar feel. I suppose if the youngsters were split up or 'moved up' into actual X-teams, that'd be cool, but I'd miss the dynamic of just the kids.

I took the little speckles in front of Gentle to be from Pixie, a trail if you will, but sure, let's say they're Dust's arm turning to dust.

It's still not drawn as well as it could have been. Dust's pose, I mean. Even going with what you're saying, and let's say you're right, what you say is her "left arm" isn't drawn with enough distance to look as if it's past her body. Maybe it's a play on the eyes because of how the robe is drawn, but I don't think so. Her "left arm" looks like it's right out in front.

A good example of his powers being useless in an offensive fight was him sparring with Wolverine. Skill-wise, they were even (as was the nature of David's power). But if that were a serious fight and not a sparring match, Wolverine would still have his claws, healing, higher stamina, strength, speed, and insanity on his side.

Hell, he couldn't even use his power to spy unless he kept a notepad on-hand to write down everything he learned.

The only thing David's power was good for was strategizing. He knew the limits of his teammates' powers and what they were capable of. Even then, it was his own natural intelligence that got his team to ace those Danger Room tests.

Thinking about the Danger Room sessions... maybe it's a good thing Laurie and Sofia aren't around, anymore. They once took down a virtual-Hulk with Laurie's pheromones and Sofia's wind blowing them up his nose. How many challenges could these kids really have when they could put every enemy to sleep?

What is this?

Where is the anger and hatred for Yost and Kyle for daring to kill characters and show that anything can happen and that they're not afraid to pull punches?

Bring back the anger and hatred! Rawr! How dare they!

They killed 40+ students unapologetically! :cmad:

And Laurie! :cmad:

And got rid of Sofia off-panel! :cmad:

And depowered Dani! :cmad:

And killed Brian.

And completely destroyed Icarus in every sense! :cmad: :cmad:

HOW DARE THEY!

Up with the torches and pitchforks!

Yes, I quite enjoy it.

Then again, I've quite enjoyed it since Yost and Kyle came on. Though I liked the HoM issues, too. Some of the better tie-ins, personally.

Yay, they're screwin with Pixie now. The fast talking thing is so endearing. -eyeroll-

And the whole thing of the X-Men suddenly taking interest in the kids again just screams of the writers going, "Oh, the adults should probably do something."

Can't wait for it.

Cool. Now I like Nezhno more than before with this power restriction. Can't wait for this issue.
