Comics New X-Men: Academy X

I didn't like David all that much when he had his powers. He's Uber kool now.:)

If you think so. You don't have to be active to be kool, for me. Just be there, says some awesome lines. I'm simple like that.:o

The last relevant thing he did was chipping it with some useful info about how to beat Nimrod. Since losing his powers, he just kinda hangs around behind the scenes.

And I'm fine with that. Most of the New X-men are Hellions... When I started the book I hated the Hellions. A lot. I take what I can get.

So you like David only because of your dislike for the Hellions? They did kinda keep all the New Mutants with the most interestign powers.

I never cared too much about powers, really. It's all about the characters for me. And I was trying to say that I liked David and everyone else, because in the whole book, the other character are still pretty low. I thank the new writers for making me like him, and everyone else for that matter. I like Surge a lot. X-23.... I can't think of anyone else.

Hmm, I think pheremones are pretty interesting...more so than electric surges.

Laurie's powers never really bothered me. It was her story and character that turned me off.

Did you guys know that electricity is an advanced state of fire?

It would be interesting to see Surge doing some interesting things with her powers. Although, when I first saw her, I had a feeling she was created to be a leader.... She has a "Scott Summers" cliche written all over her.

What do you mean? ABout the leader thing, I mean.

She started off on the streets doing drugs to keep her powers in check. Plus, she's asian. She's meant to be a leader.

I remember a while back when this character was first seen at the mansion. I was skimming through an issue where Cyclops was giving her pointers on how to focus on her powers, and saying that she has the potential to be a good squad leader... Or something like that.

I wasn't interested in the book back then, but the recent change of Rockslide's appearance has sparked my interest in this book now. Still, I'm waiting to see what they do with Dust. I haven't heard any buzz about her in the forums, so I'll assume she hasn't really done anything lately, other than worry about the whereabouts of her mother... And she's one character I'd like to see let loose with her powers.

If anything exciting out of this current arc happens, I could see Weapon X going after both her, Mercury, and Rockslide.

Yeah, Dust is a fave. I have always liked her. I like a team that has so many diverse characters like this one. (Until they get killed off anyhow... :( )

For what its worth, Dust was the first to really make a connction with X23 (which i think says a lot about her character) and took out most of Stryker's goons when they attacked the mansion. Since then shes been on the sidelines.

^Meh. His Anole is the coolest but he looks waaay too young.

Keep in mind though, they ARE young.

...And I would have to agree with Scottie when he says that these are suppose to be teenagers looking their age, not 28 year olds with the mentalities of 16 year olds. It just gives a whole new perspective on them when they go up against a foe.

Anole is the smallest 16 years I've ever seen then.

You're absolutely right. He does look a little young. But then we have to step back and remember that these are suppose to be kids in the first place. The original five were the same age as these kids, and artists back then based teenagers on how they dressed back in that era, which tended to dress more like conservative adults (something out of that Happy Days show).

But besides that, their artistry wasn't as advanced as it is today. So drawing a younger-looking kid is more easier to pull off now than back then. Still, the basic concept of this book is to show another generation of up and coming X-Men as they should look.... young.

But yeah, I get your point... :yay:

Damn it, Anole isnt cute anymore.... But Im starting to like this guys art now :)

I never thought any of the kids looked 28 or anywhere near that old. They all looked like teens
