Apocalypse Nightcrawler in the Apocalypse Movie

Honestly I don't like the scars/tattoos. I thought they would leave this behind in this new timeline. =/

It looks like a red suit jacket with black and red flowery motif. Probably his get-up in Germany.

I think he just looks okay. Nightcrawler isn't blue, he's indigo and in this one, he totally looks blue, I prefer the shade of blue/indigo they used in X2. The carvings also don't look great compare to X2.

Oow! He looks rather cute. :p

I think the color will look fine on screen. The original trilogy was quite dark, so I needed to get used to seeing for example Mystique in broad daylight in DOFP. It'll probably the same thing seeing Nightcrawler doing normal stuff, like walking in a shopping mall.

I don't mind this look for a young version of Nightcrawler (I loved the X2 version). Jacket's cool too.

So multi-colored hair isn't "80's?" Funny, could have fooled me.

Argh!!!!!

Couldn't they have just left those darn body scars off!!!

And how exactly is he going to be able to be the fun loving, swashbuckling Kurt that most of us want when in order to have those scars he needs to be effectively the opposite of that?????

They used the exact same scars as Nightcrawler in X2. They are exactly the same. Wow.

Because no one with scars can be fun. Or physically agile.

Or maybe he treats the scars as tattoos and finds them pretty? So much reading into minor design things.

I think my only negative with the scars is they look too cosplay, and not as good as X2's.

If what EW says is true then yeah he will be a more playful character or source of comic relief

I don't remember correctly, but wasn't the scars in X2 a self-harm kind of thing?

Kind of but not really. It wasn't a emo cutting himself kind of thing, they're angel tattoos or something.

I'm not into the "emo" criticism for Kurt. I just mentioned because it's kind of depressing. Anyway, I like what they said so far about him. I'm just not a fan of the scars.

I've never understood the explanation for the scars in X2. I think they look good and is the perfect aesthetic to make him look less like he was just painted blue. But yeah, I never got them. Seeing them as a tattoo makes more sense to me.

Oh, and by the way, self-mutilation is not an "emo thing". It's a very serious disorder.

If memory serves, in X2 he did the scar thing for each of his sins.

It was a very, overly religious thing, which fit that version of the character.

My hope, and I believe many other's, was that this younger version of Kurt, in this new timeline, wouldn't be the overly religious version of the character, you know, the type that would scar his body to represent his sins.

For me, it's difficult to see Kurt as both someone who would be willing to scar himself for his sins and be the fun-loving version that many of us love. And it's really tough to do both. You can't be the overly religious version from X2 AND be fun-loving and swashbuckling.

And to change the motivation behind the scars representing his sins to being, maybe, something he thinks looks cool, would be beyond stupid. It would be akin to Singer and Kinberg just ignoring prior, movie canon, but I have a feeling those two don't really give a hoot about maintaining an appropriate timeline (for example, how can Warren be in this 1983 movie as a teenager, when he should be a newborn?????).

They really should have just left the stupid scars out this time...

Weird. I see nothing wrong with a character being very religious and a fun, outgoing character.

Yeah, it's a bit disturbing this mix of self-mutilation and fanaticism. I do hope they keep alive this religious side of him but not only this side and not... too much.
