Apocalypse Nightcrawler in the Apocalypse Movie

He just looks to hipster to me, he looks to current. But that is just a styling issue.

The brown pants, I'm not so crazy about though.

Not feeling it, he looks like an Avatar. But hey the cast of X:FC looked awful in their first promotional bits, so I'm sure it'll look fine in motion.

How on earth do people have issues with Nightcrawler. How would you do a teenage Nightcrawler?

Ha! The thing is... I wouldn't. It's just my personal preference, but I don't like the idea of teen superheroes at all. Part of the reason I never got into X-Men Evolution. I really wish this movie had them just a tad bit older.

But since this is a teen X-Men movie, this does fit how Kurt might have looked. The long sweep of hair is annoying, but oh well. I'm terrified by what Sophie's outfit might look like. YIKES. It looks like it might be a Canadian tuxedo...

An Avatar? In what way? The makeup and eye color are almost identical to Cumming's.

It's the 80's. They were destined to look somewhat bad. Nightcrawler's civvies in the promo pic are at least half decent, if underwhelming. I'm just hoping they have X-men costumes that are good at least and not another drab, mostly black affair.

The only thing I would change is have Nightcrawler contacts to look more like Mystique's contact, I understand it's the same or similar contacts used for Alan Cumming Nightcrawler in X2 but still at least Mystique got similar yellow eyes to comics version. Honestly I like the clothing choices for some of the X-Men and how close to the comics they look so far(particularly Jubilee and Nightcrawler). Gives me hope for the X-Men uniforms.

I like the whole starting off with teenage superheroes and seeing them growing up and maturing in certain characters(Spidey,X-Men, especially original 5, Human Torch, Teen Titans, etc) while others I prefer seeing them as adults or young adults and see them grow up. I like seeing where certain characters come from in that aspect.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the 80s. I'm just hoping it's pulled off well.

Lol first day of filming and people already complaining. You've seen one costume people. Relax.

Comic book fans HAVE to complain about SOMETHING at all times. It's like a compulsion, they'll go crazy if they don't.

He needs a tattoo that says "Bamf!" Preferably on the forehead.

I think Nightcrawler looks pretty good here already but I agree with you 100% about teen superheroes and X-Men Evolution. One reason I haven't bee too thrilled about this movie is because of the teen cast/characters being even younger than First Class

Why are people thinking the markings on Kodi's forehead scales like Mystique?

They're obviously the same "angelic symbols" Alan's X2 Nightcrawler had:

*I wish his teeth weren't so white.

Like I said, for the Singerverse this is as good as Nightcrawler could possibly be. If I had my way he would have blue fur instead of skin and wouldn't have those dumb tattoo scars but it's still better than X2. I really like him wearing the Thriller jacket.

Blue fur though is one of those things that Claremont does when he wants to pad his script with more words...and I like the guy. (see: Psylocke and her "Psychic Knife: The focused totality of [her] power telepathic powers.")

It's in executing it in live action that's the hard part.

For instance, Drax the Destroyer to me was always just green, goofy-looking dude with weird purple cowl, pants and cape with gold gauntlets. At least that's how I remembered him from Infinity Gauntlet days. When did he turn into this green dude with raised tattoos?

So Singer isn't the only one that is, for want of a better word, incapable of translating the comic-look to live action.

Having another blue, furry mutant would overlap with Beast and even then he isn't really that furry. Compared to Kelsey at least. We have enough blue mutants as is.

To me having him use swords and be swashbuckling is more critical than the fur.

I love it! I didn't think he would look like he was having so much fun which is important to me because I thought they might go for the Emo thing

off topic, but drax got a redesign quite some time ago, in the comics the tatts dont look raised. But the concept of him being green with swirling tribal type tatts has been around for over 10 years now.

But yeah, i never understood why people get so hung up on nightcrawler being furry. He's never drawn so you can see fur on him like the way beast is drawn. It just looks like blue skin. If people are gonna get hung up on nightcrawler not being furry then I suppose they should also be up in arms about wolverine not being hairy enough too....

10 years ago eh? around 2003? Could it be argued that the artist got the tattoo idea from Singer's X2 Nightcrawler? :oldrazz:

I never got the furry thing with Nightcrawler either. I've never seen him drawn that way whilst character like Beast were clearly drawn furry and I've seen it mentioned even less. The only time I recall hearing it was some episodes of X-men Evolution, I think. Personally I just picture him more akin to this and prefer him that way. Let Beast be the furry I say.
