kodi said nightcrawler was religious aswell as fun-loving and swashbuckling so it's likely his character will have all them aspects

Although It doesn't sound like the scars get any mention in the script though, or at least that's what Kodi said

Kodi is a very good dramatic actor so I think we'll see some of that in the film.

Do you rather prefer him to jump around and do EVERYTHING for fun? Well, let him be a one-dimensional clown then.

No. But some people's comments were leaning towards him just being Cumming's interpretation as a kid. Thanks to the person who quoted the EW article, that's very relieving that he will be supplying comic relief.

I figured it'd be Jubilee and Quicksilver supplying comic relief. But I could see Kodi's Nightcrawler doing the same, but still having a flair for the dramatic every now and then.

I assume there will be time for comic relief and also time when he needs to take things more serious, esp With a film like this

^Yeah, fighting someone like Apocalypse isn't like a walk in the park.
There are a lot of powerful mutants but all of them should push themselves to their limits and beyond, and it still isn't enough unless they work together.
I want some moments of Nightcrawler's more serious and darker side come to the surface

No we aren't but apparently Super Jim is. I've noticed here in this section of the forums he just making a lot of complaining posts about the characters. They're not good or true to the characters aka they aren't what he wants to see. So therefore, garbage.

I've raised concerns about two characters so far...

1. Kurt's scarification and how (based on what we know from X2) that possibly means that he's overly religious (which might make it difficult for him to be the fun-loving and swashbuckling character that many of us want to see).

And

2. Apocalypse and how, so far, it doesn't appear that they are using CG to modify Oscar's height. I believe most would agree that to them Apocalypse is a physically imposing character.

At the same time I've commented that I personally like Psylocke's costume (something many others have an issue with).

Kodi Smit-McPhee said that Nightcrawler is both religious and happy. End of discussion, really.

It's kind of ridiculous to think that being religious is synonymous with not having a sense of humour.

I was more just surprised that he scarred himself at such a young age.

Did Nightcrawler actually say HE did the tattoos/scarring in X2?

I can't remember if he actually said it. I remember Storm looking at and feeling the scars asking if he did them himself. I got that he did from the look on his face.

He never stated specifically that he did them to himself, but it was obviously implied.

Here is the exact dialog:

[While Kurt was praying, Ororo stumbles to him and look at Kurt's markings in his face]

Storm: So... what... are they?

Nightcrawler: They are angelic symbols passed on to mankind by the Archangel Gabriel.

Storm: They're beautiful. How many do you have?

Nightcrawler: One for every sin. So quite a few.

[Storm smiles]

Nightcrawler: You and Miss Grey are schoolteachers?

Storm: Yes. At a school for people like us, where we can be safe.

Nightcrawler: Safe from what?

Storm: Everyone else.

Nightcrawler: You know, outside of the circus, most people were afraid of me. But I did not hate them: I pitied them. Do you know why? Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes.

Storm: Well, I gave up on pity a long time ago.

Nightcrawler: Someone so beautiful should not be so angry.

Storm: Sometimes anger can help you survive.

Nightcrawler: So can faith.

Since when is being religious and fun-loving two mutually exclusive things? I know a hell of a lot of people who are religious that are more fun to be around then others that aren't.

They've already said Apocalypse is a combination of CGI and practical effects. Oscar Isaac himself already said Apoc has the power to control the molecules in his body which gives him the ability change his height.

Reading/researching before you post does wonders!

Sorry about that. Forgot that dialog.

So yes, he admitted he scarred his body for his sins.

All I was/am saying is that it's hard to see how a 19 year old can be so religious that he would be scarring his body for his sins (meaning, cutting or burning his flesh) AND be a fun-loving, swashbuckling type character. Is it possible to pull that off? Maybe, fingers crossed...

Yes, I've read the same thing about Apocalypse being part CG, but so far the footage we've been shown does not indicate that Apocalypse will be a looming figure, nor does it show that he will use his powers to alter his size. Is it possible he will? Of course, and here's to hoping he will, but still it seems more than obvious that the Apocalypse that we will see the majority of the time is 5'-8" Oscar in costume and make-up. Again, I want to reiterate that I personal love Oscar and think he is amazingly talented, so hopefully he can pull this off. At the same time, I would have rather have seen Oscar as Mr. Sinister in an X movie...

Yeah Oscar looks like Sinister

In this movie Kurt looks more 15/16 years old. He can be Mystique's adoptive son.

Raven will rescue him. If Singer doesnt want to make him biological son of Mystique, he can make him being adptive son

I really hope Kurt is Raven's son. It would fit perfectly in the timeline.

No it would just confuse people why Raven suddenly became a mother. Just let her help Kurt... no need to drag this mother and son relationship in the film.
