I don't know. But what I find original in that trilogy is that they partially used the members of the original for both sequels. Just my opinion.

Definition: Third sequel means PART FOUR......

My theory is they should stop after 3, because no film trilogy has ever produced a great part 4 to it's previous 3.......

If you disagree name a successful part 1,2,3, and 4.

Star Wars got to a fourth installment and failed......

Batman couldnt even get to a great 3........

Etc, etc, etc, etc...

Spider-Man 1,2 and probably 3 will all be a great trilogy....

But a Spider-Man 4 will not do too well....Even if Sam, Tobey returns, they will be burnt out and not care about the product.

They either need a 4-5 year break to do other projects and then come back or Sony just stop after this story....

But Sony won't. They want to suck all the money out of the Spider-Man franchise as possible, so they will give you Spider-Man 4 with Jake G and Scarlett Johannsen. It will suck too....

everybody liked spider-man 1. As far as movies go it was unique, fun, and depressing.

spider-man 2 blew people away i think.

I think the franchise will lose steam after this becuase of the villain choices they made for part 3. part 3 should have been the lizard, green goblin, and the return of dock ock.

First of all, Both sm1 and 2 imo were mediocre at best and for the most part are quite boring movies. However, sm3 looks like it has a lot of potential to be a great movie. If it is, then the movies can continue, we've got villains like, the lizard, kraven, electro and vulture that can be used, hell even hobgoblin.

Die Hard 2 wasn't even a Die Hard Film...It was a book that just used Die Hard characters..and yes it sucked big time.

Only great trilogies imo are Star Wars OT, Back to the Future, and prolly going to be Spider-Man. And I can't think of any more right now....

Terminator 3 was good, not great. Alien 3 wasn't near as good as 1 and 2...

Austin Powers failed at number 3.

I'm not all that into the Bond flicks... Aliens (as in alien 2) By James Cameron was the only REAL badass alien flick, it's far better than any of the others! as for LOTR, I think FellowShip is the best!

I know there's a lot of movie's coming out this summer; Pirates3, Transformers, Harry Potter 5, Die Hard 4.0... I still believe that Pirates will come in on top at the box-office though... It's definitly competition, but as for the better movie, It looks like Spidey 3 should feel more threatened by Transformers, then Pirates3.

First of all, go watch Dr.No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball, you need some Bond culture in your life. Secondly, Aliens 1 to 3 are awesome, period, it's not even debatable

For some reason, I just think transformers may end up being a huge let down. I want the movie to be awesome but something tells me I'm going to be dissapointed. Anyway, like I've said before, the BO king could be any one of the various summer movies we're all looking foward to, I just hope sm3 finally brings the heat.

Toy Story 3 is on the way, those guys can make good movies, so I think we have a good trilogy there.
I think the same on Rush Hour 1, 2 & 3.

Batman couldnt even get to a great 3

Batman Forever wasn't as cool as the original, or course, but I think it was entertaining. Batman & Robin is like the worst comic book movie ever. I think Schumacher thought he could do something colorful and funny like the TV serie with Adam West... damn he was wrong!

For me the best trilogy ever is Back To The Future.

That's because Michael Bay is a presumptuos (sp?) bastard who thinks everything he does is gold... and is not. That way of thinking made him make horrible movies lately (Bad Boys 2 -with that 1457 running time; and The Island).

I didnt really like that mucho spidey 1, i mean it was good and all but, in my opinion it was kinda like childish, i mean it was like they made it for the younger fans than the older fans. compare spidey 1 with xmen, xmen was far more intense. spidey 2 was much better, even though in my opinion they didnt make a strong conflict between spidey and doc ock, cuz if it wasnt for harry, ock wouldnt have fought with spidey at the end, while in the spidey story he is one of the biggest villains in the spidey story, so in my opinion the other 2 spidey movies were not that great, but i think that this one is going to be the best one yet. Oh and tehre you have another great trilogy, Xmen, even though the third one kinda f***ed the story for another 4th film

I love Connery and to me, he IS James Bond but we needed the new actors to come and do their bit, it's an inevitable change that works out for the best....and even if Jake G and Scarlett were in a spidey movie, how do you know it'll suck. Many people recognise Jake as a good and diverse actor and scarlett as a superior actress to Dunst...at the end of the day, all a spidey movie needs is, a good script and capable actors.

Wanting the Spider-Man movies to stop because of lesser movie history is ridiculously idiotic. Why the hell would you want that? You don't know if SM4 would be crap and you certainly don't have any say so in the matter. If Raimi and company stay for another, you honestly think the movie would suck because it is so "rare" to have great movies beyong a trilogy. I also love the movies you gave examples for...Alien and Rocky... Ohhh great movies. And part 4 of the Star Wars series would be episode 4 and coincedentally the first movie they ever made. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc...are a great series of movies and I am sure the Hobbit will add to the LOTR franchise perfectly. The new Bond series is off to a great start, the new Batman series is off to a great start, etc... etc... etc...

The same plot points can be found in any various movies, comic books, novels or children's books. The comic book industry and movie industry are full of the same plot points...and you will probably pay money to see most of them this year. Even Stan Lee is guilty of doing this, as are most writers/artists/directors.

Yes, granted that Aliens 3 wasn't as brilliant as the 1st 2, it's still a damn good movie.... and the key word from your post is, thought, as in past tense. It is now being recognised as a classic that people originally slept on, just like what OHMSS was to the Bond franchise.

It is in no way recognised as a classic (like Alien/Aliens are) or even close, and most wouldn't even call it a damn good or even a good movie. I'm sure there are a few who like it, although, Aliens 3 is where most would say the franchise took a huge nose-dive.

However, I love Fincher's work, he's a damn good director, just not in the genre of sci-fi/action movies. Perhaps if he had an original sci-fi movie written just for him or maybe a sci-fi novel to adapt, he would do great, but not taking over the works of two great sci-fi directors like Scott/Cameron.

As for the "JURASSIC PARK" films!

The 1'st movie was phenomenal! It's a timeless movie-experience! You just buy everything in the movie to the point where you're actually thinking COULD it really be possible???

"The Lost World" is IMO exstremely UNnessecary! NOT a bad movie, just as I mentioned VERY UNnessecary! The T-Rex loose in the city in the end is always cool to watch though!

As for the third picture!!!! It BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even worth writing about!

the first and the second spidey movie are awesome , for the third we have 2 wait and see

the problem you have with the movies for sequels is that writhers start with something and dont know how 2 end it

from comics 2 movies you got something diffrent , there you have a background off a 1.000.000. comics from other great writhers to tell a story

then you can have a story with ... electro , hydroman , kraven , chameleon and dont forget the lizard ect....

and all this movies will be blockbusters with the wright team
