Is it something specific to the character, because I haven't read that much into him. All I remember is that he was a mutant tip of the hat to the literary tar baby in those old br'er rabbit tales.

I still don't get how it's offensive. It's a clear homage to the literary character and I don't thnk they took any creative licence to make it more inflammatory in terms of costume. A lot of characters are created based on literary classics.

Cheers... I thought the issue may have been the costume looking like it played up to some old minstrel show stereotypes or something.

Is that still really unacceptable though whenn it's a clear homage to a literary character..? I mean, maybe they could have come up with a better motif for an adhesive character (despite Paste Pot Pete suggesting otherwise) but I don't see that itself as racist (then I've never heard the term's use as a slur until today).
