Norton Reprising the role of Banner = Up to the fans

It's not going to come from be, I thought he was bland in the role.

2 different actors playing the SAME character in the SAME universe

just growing tiresome, all I'm saying on the subject

Don't even include Dr. Banner.
Just have a CG Hulk for the whole movie.
Hulk is out in the desert or something, and is contacted (manipulated by Loki) and goes after the Avengers. He fights the Avengers (still manipulated by Loki) then turns and helps the Avengers fight Loki when he figures out he is being manipulated. Then he leaves, rejecting their offer to join, and is gone without ever turning back to his human form.
This version of the Hulk could be slightly smarter too, enough to talk is short sentences anyway.
Hulk mad! Hulk hate Horned Man (Loki)! Hulk hate being used! Hulk want to be left alone. Hulk will smash you! Get out of Hulks way!
Stuff like that.
He is now known well enough that the audience who doesn't read Hulk comics knows who he is. So there is no need to establish him and Dr. Banner. And he wont be the focus of the movie, then all they have to do is voice cast the Hulk.

marvel sure is going to be under hellfire at comic con...

Although that might be nice, I doubt it.....I know people care about seeing Norton again(me included), but I believe our "kind" is in the minority.

I dunno, all over the web people are pissed about this, barely any have said "meh" or are happy with it. so...we'll have to find out.

sadly, I won't be there to see:csad:

I would be very happy to see Marvel exploded with questions related to Norton's Hulk. And then hopefully they will begin to sweat! :p

as they should

they built this up to be a shared universe, you even have RDJ's cameo in TIH and a couple years down the road you recast for the Main Event?

Not going to fly

these are signs that either the script sucked, Marvel Studios is falling apart, or both. IM2 already recieved mixed reviews, I would hate for that to have been the spark of a downhill trend

This is bad PR for Marvel, there's really no way around it. Norton pretty much saved TIH, and with Marvel using codespeak for "he didn't like the script for Avengers, so we wanted someone who would co-operate," it makes it sound like they had a not-so-great script but they want to push forward with it anyway, even if it means losing Edward Norton. That is some Grade-A fail right there.

Pretty sure Marvel is trying to cement Hulk's place as being the most troubled of their characters when it comes to cinematic outings. He has never been played by the same actor twice in a movie, because Marvel keeps screwing up.

I wonder if Marvel is going to try and introduce audiences to a less-than-pleasant aspect of the comic book experience: retcons. With Norton gone, Marvel may decide to render the entire TIH movie as non-canon and just give us a completely different version of Hulk and Banner. TIH didn't meet their financial expectations, and the only one of Marvel's solo superhero films that has been a true success so far has been the Iron Man films. If they botch up badly enough with the rest of their solo movies then the whole Marvel Movie-verse concept could implode just as quickly as it was built.

Oh yeah, also the original post of this thread looks a bit ironic now... Norton pretty much said "whether or not I come back will be up to the fans." Well, looking back, that's not even true. Looking at the official SHH front page poll, the reaction to dropping Norton has been overwhelmingly negative, but Marvel is pleased with their decision anyway and have probably already cracked open the champagne to congratulate themselves over their "brilliant move." It was up to Marvel, and Marvel said "No. This Norton guy is a loose canon, and we can't have that since we like our script exactly the way it is. Just get someone else who won't complain, the fans are all gonna watch the movie anyway even if it sucks."

You guys are being melodramatic babies.

Norton acted like a petulant child that didn't get his way. He publicly distanced himself from the movie and basically refused to promote it.

Yeah people don't forget things like that.

You can't have behavior like that on a project of this magnitude and performance.

Norton didn't save jack crap. The Incredible Hulk did pretty much the same as Hulk 2003 no matter what anyone says.

Indeed! I never thought back when I first saw Iron Man and TIH that something like this would ever happen....:csad:

**** happens. Fact of life.

The thing is, since I'm not naive. I always thought something like this would happen. Norton's a great actor but I thought his casting was risky because I just couldn't see Norton being a recurring performer in a big franchise due to the terms Norton likes to work under. Norton frequently has to get his way and get a lot of creative control. Norton was the wrong way to go for Banner for this reason.

Also here's the other thing guys. We've known about these issues for over two years. We've known about the issues and tension between Norton and Marvel. This is the result of all that.

meh, I laughed out load when I read his plea to email marvel for him. Ha, fat chance.

And you guys crying this is the end of Marvel ... double HA

You'll be in line Norton or no Norton. Or you'll be square.

you say that now, but (I've said this before norton was dropped) but if the trailer looks like crap, I won't see avengers. Same goes for Spider-man "2.0"

Not only that, you have to bring all your friends to see whatever other movie Spider-man reboot is going up against for that weekend.

Just to boost the box office for that other movie over Spidey

Batman 3! :woot::up:

I'm with Venom! -Crosses arms, and poses next to him.- :word:

If this were a facebook status or comment, I would have clicked "like" about 8 times. :hehe::awesome:

Whats even worse, i'm not even a huge fan of the Avengers, I don't like the idea of a superhero team made up of well known popular and/or powerful characters. I think the same of the Justice League, that doesn't mean I don't like those titles! I mean both series have surprised me often. I haven't read enough of either to really understand them I suppose....but I like a series focusing on a much smaller amount of characters, like one. :p
