NSA creates national database of phonecalls...major phone companies help

Everyone stop questioning the government. They know what's best and you should just be quiet and trust them because they wouldn't ever do anything wrong.

The stupidest thing: I get to work this morning and there's Alfred E. Neuman on the front page of the newspaper saying "The government is not mining and trolling the personal lives of innocent Americans."

Um, if they were, would they hold a press conference and say "Attention, we are mining and trolling the personal lives of innocent Americans."

Do you realize (I know you do) that this is actually the mindset of the majority of Americans?  :( :down

Of course they have. Sooner or later the true comes out and that is what happening. Of course the masses are so brainwashed at this point it doesn't matter what secrets are revealed. (Except maybe about the Reptitlians. I think that would cause an uproar.)

It's the open, brazen way they're going about it that offends me.

It dosn't matter, there's nothing you can do about it.

That all depends. I can switch my phone usage to Qwest. They've proven to be the most friendly to the Bill of Rights.

nice line of thinking. just accept everything and move on to your mind-numbing distractions.

Unless you stop using a phone or move to Canada you're screwed.

They wouldn't have dared to be this way in the 1970's. Nixon was impeached for much less than what has happened on both Bushes Adminstrations.

It shows how much the American people has regressed.

We can complain about Bush and a corrupt government all we want, but ultimately, we the people are the one's to blame for letting the Government/Corporate alliance to dictate to us our domestic and foreign policy.

no true. we can put people in office who will fight for our rights rather than taking them away. you've got a defeatist attitude, like many americans.

No, I'm suggesting if you're that pissed off go the the great white north.

The Truth is America got a little paranoid after 9/11.

If I'm a defeatist you're a idealist.

No country is free and to thank one can be is naive.

why should i leave my country because someone else is screwing it up. i'd rather we fixed it. america got more than a little paranoid after 9/11, it got raped by the government.

I agree with you. Americans are constantly being indoctrinated by the Mass Media to feel indifference and be egostically among other things.

We can have a free mind if we stop letting the media tell us how to think and what to feel and how to act.

If we collectively begin giving the same or more importance to our domestic and international affair than B.S. like Survivor, American Idol, and the Super Bowl, we will be able to regain control of our country and be the ones to determine its direction.

Right now we are just being exploited and we are willfully bending over to allow the Government and Corporations do it.

This country was designed by idealists and so is every Corporation in the U.S.

Ideas are a prerequisite to make our goals and aspirations a reality.

Some countries are more free then others, but no country is ever truly free.

exactly. we're being pacified by the media and corporations. we're told to work harder and longer and being fed mindless drivel passed off as entertainment to distract us from what's being done. i'm betting more people could name all of the contestants left on american idol than they could all of the supreme court justices.

true, but what's wrong with wanting to protect existing freedoms? once they slip away they're most likely not coming back.

Some people cannot even name the Vice President or even the 1st Freedom.

If a person doesn't know their freedoms then surely they are a slave.

Any human living in the governed society is a slave.

that's how it's turned out but not how it was supposed to be when our country was founded. we let that happen. eventually the american citizens need to collectively put their foot down and stop it.
