so.............we should all just be good fans and accept whatever Hollywood hands us right? praising the film doesn't hurt or insult anyone, but neither should thoughtful, informed critiques. besides, if you're the kind of worker who looks for praise...then you're not doing your job right. the best artists and creators do not ignore their flaws but address them.

The problem is that most of the negative critics about this movie are immature bashing like "this movie will suck because the mai-chichi fight looks slow" (without considering that all fights from all movies look like that until they are edited in post production)... or "goku is asian" or "fullum assasin looks power rangerish" (but all monsters look a bit like that before post-production)... etc etc etc. Its like most of the haters cant use their heads and think for a moment. Only a small minority of critics are intelligent and well based. Most of the negative whining are immature bashing.

How was he annoying in WOTW?

Justin Chatwin WAS annoying in that movie. But it was the character´s personality he had to play.

Its true, when I was first told that Justin Chatwin was going to play the role of Goku, War of the Worlds came to my mind and I hated the decision to cast him as Goku. But after a few months I realized he was annoying in WOTW because it was the role he had to play.

Of course, and good point with Chatwin's released pics. Like everything in this world and what makes it spin, it's all a matter of persepective. I'll say that assumption often is the detrimental downfall for most humans and their mistakes; but it is natural and everyone does it. To each their own. At least you can admit you hated Ledger Joker in the beginning as well. I didn't hate it, but I was definitely a level or two below it, along with the "Why this when it should've been this?" crowd.

Yeah...I see what you're saying. I'm not saying Chatwin will be terrible, but judging from the pictures we've seen so far, it's just not doing it for me.

Hehe.. that shot of Goku is basically the same facial expression Chatwin has in most of his promos.

Wouldn't say that. Goku looks like a little determined kid who doesn't know better. Chatwin looks a bit spacey. But he does seem to be going for the Neo look so it fits.

I'm okay with the pictures. Chatwin looks rather goku-ish, and roshi has a scandily clad girl on his shirt. But the only picture we have of Yamcha I really don't like at all, he's the one I'm worried about visually, because the other one just didn't work for me.

well, and I'm just stating my opinion, I think they might haven't made Yamcha a fighter, because let's be honest, even in the Sayian saga, fighters like Yamcha, Tien, Krilin, Chaozu became pretty "pointless" and it was the Sayians who pretty much did all the fighting (at least the fighting that matters), so it would be some kind useless to introduce those characters if they already know they couldn't use them properly in the future. As for Yamcha maybe they'll keep him just as a supporting character and the love interest of Bulma.

But the fact that, for now, there's no word about Krilin makes me wonder what will trigger Goku's transformation to Super Saiyan if in a sequel they decide to use the Super Saiyan

Unlike the show i cant see characters becoming as useless, i could see Yamcha, Roshi and Piccolo fighting the saiyans in a sequel.

Yamcha is bound to fight Goku in the desert.

And Frieza could kill Piccolo, Yamcha or Roshi thatd trigger it.

Exactly. Not my battle to fight but this is undeniable. I don't see how anybody could contest this.
