the Resident Evil films have taught me that, no matter how crappy a movie is, there's ALWAYS a chance that a sequel will get made...which is why i haven't said that this DEFINITELY won't get a sequel.we could very well get a sequel... not everyone in america or the world for that matter watches leaked clips.. alot of people just watch trailers and tv spots and go check out a flick... so it could get a sequel. i havent watched the clips and im not going to.
it did to me...especially that damn licker. i was already disappointed with the movie up to that point, but once i saw the licker i was done with the movie. i seriously wanted to walk out, but i stayed out of curiosity for how it ended.maybe resident evil was bad. but it didnt look cheap.
Superman Returns struggled to reach $300 mil WORLDWIDE and that movie had much better marketing and the popularity of Superman behind it. plus, there wasn't nearly as much negativity surrounding it. there is no way that DB:E will make more than $200 mil, and that's being very optimistic. hell, breaking even and earning $100 mil, if it's lucky enough to survive the first week, is still being optimistic.
unless Fox or Wong can pull rabbits our of their @$$es, we most likely won't be getting a sequel.
The last film i went to the cinema was when revenge of the sith came out.cell therapy are you serious? you will really support fox for this?
people like you are the reason why movies like this happen. people like you are the reason why x-men 3 was so short. and soooooooo on.
you're right...Superman failed for those reasons, but it just goes to show that even a powerhouse like Superman can fall victim to the box office. regardless of the problems with the film, people still have to buy tickets to see the movie and it struggled just to break even.Superman wasn't really that entertaining. It was just him saving people. There were no big fights and no real villain. Just an angry bald guy with a shiny green rock. That was why Superman failed. It was too melodramtic with zero action and that's not what people were looking for.
well, let's put it this way...Superman has been around for 70 years and his symbol is more recognizable than Mickey Mouse's head in many deserted areas of the world. i'd gladly bet that there are more Superman fans in the world than there are Dragon Ball fans.I'm not sure how popular Superman is worldwide, but I know DB is hugely famous. At the time when Superman Returns came out, I guarantee that a younger audience could quote lines from DBZ before they could Superman. I know I could.
i think the biggest obstacle DB:E has to overcome isn't DB/DBZ confusion, but rather the negative buzz. The biggest obstacle DB:E will have to overcome is the DB-DBZ confusion, by that I mean "Where is Vegeta?" and "Why is Piccolo a bad guy?"
actually i think the first is Legend of Chun-Li...and that was done by Fox also.
