a bootleg in japanese is all i need for a closure

I think you may get one in English with Japanese subtitles. Remember those videos of the entire scene of Goku meeting Roshi and the other ones? They had a watermark on the bottom saying something like "Property Of 20th Century Fox-Australia". That means someone has a screener copy and it is a matter of time when it will be leaked.

gorgeous
i'm attempting to download smth as we speak
but enough about that ..i don't wanna be accused of spreading ''bad energy'' or such

The whole finale fight is on youtube but mind you it's in VERY bad quality and dark.

i will wahit for a better quality. the leaked clips from the premiere are so dark that you can see only 20%.

It would be really interesting to know how old most of the people on this Forum are, because sometimes it's like being in a school playground.

I love movies so does my missus, and we watch all genre's horror to comedy, PG to 18,
we can enjoy 1 hour or 3 hours whatever rating as long as we've been entertained.

I'm a big DB fan, and yes i would love to see something with a wider scope but it hasn't happened, i'm still eager to see the film and no doubt i'll complain about parts i didn't like after i've seen it, but i'm mature enough to accept what it is and just enjoy it - cringing or laughing.

Afterwards i get on with my life, still with the thought that the original Dragonball will always be Dragonball and i can watch it anytime i like, no live movie will ever capture the essence of the true source.

So...Some random woman tries to treat Piccolo back to health despite the fact that HE'S A F***ING ALIEN AND DOESN'T EAT FOOD? Right. FOX knows a LOT about Dragonball. Ya know, I'm really looking forward to this movie but these stupid things are REALLY starting to piss me off.

Miracle soup............puts hair on your chest and brings you back from the brink of death.

Why essentially waste your money and potentially donate to a sequel of something that is bad. Also if no live movie will ever capture the essence of the true source then it's probably best studio's stick to not adapting or touching these great franchises considering the essence is what made the original so popular.

They added the secpond international trailer in HD on the canyoukamemehameha channel.

well, if it's true that Piccolo reveals that Goku is a Saiyan in this movie then i think the audience would be smart enough to put 2 and 2 together. even if they don't realize that it would be another Saiyan in the extra scene, they would still figure out that it has something to do with his newly realized alien ancestry.

I disagree there. It's not easy enough to put two and two since it could be any number of things. Even if it was apparent that it was the coming of the Saiyans, that essentially equals a massive spoiler to the plot of the second movie; far bigger than spoiling that Piccolo (the current villain) is in fact alive and may return in a sequel.

it didn't feel out of the blue when the Mummy came back in the Mummy returns. that was a great way to end the first film with the assumption that the Mummy is done for good, but bring him back in the 2nd film without compromizing the illusion that the villain would be dead for good.

Yeah, well... if I'm not mistaken, the first movie was made with no concrete plans for a sequel. So, they didn't show the Mummy as alive because there weren't plans for him to be (at the time the first movie was released). With Dragonball, the producers are planning under the presumption that they will be making a sequel.

yeah...but as much as people like to make it seem like we want an uber faithful film, we really just want a GOOD film. if that means changing things to make it fresh and a little less predictable then so be it, as long as it's in good taste. just because this particular scene might've been in the manga/anime doesn't mean it should be in the movie.....especially when you consider that they've discarded elements of the DB verse that are infinitely more important.

But neither way is fresh. From the sound of things, you seem more upset that they didn't do things the way you would have wanted it to rather than because of the decisions themselves.

to put it bluntly, if a person can't connect the dots between Piccolo revealing that Goku is actually an alien, then seeing an after credits cliffhanger involving an alien spacecraft with someone that looks human inside then that person wouldn't be too bright. regardless, it would spark more curiosity than simply revealing that Piccolo is alive. after all, even outside the DBverse, characters come back to life all the time.

again...we already know that Piccolo tells Goku about his alien ancestry. i don't think showing a Saiyan space ship would be spoiling much of anything other than that there will be new villains for the sequel. it's not like they'd be spoiling important plot points from the SCRIPT of the sequel.

well then that's their mistake. unless you already have an outline for a sequel or a trilogy then you shouldn't make a movie with the assumption that you're going to be making a sequel to it...which is why i don't think they should've even included a cliffhanger ending. it actually feeds my theory that they were trying to mold this into a Transformers-type movie (Starscream leaving Earth's atmosphere in the middle of the credits).

But neither way is fresh. From the sound of things, you seem more upset that they didn't do things the way you would have wanted it to rather than because of the decisions themselves.
i'm upset that they didn't get quality talent on this film. Goku going to high school, no Krillin, Roshi looking like the Bulletproof Monk........all these things i could possibly forgive IF THEY THREW SOME REAL TALENT BEHIND THIS MESS!!! in this day and age of entertainment, the villain coming back to life is one of the most predictable cliche's and it certainly doesn't work in this circumstance considering (according to many reviews) that Piccolo doesn't even really seem DEAD at the end.

so i say that you're out of line for thinking that my disappointment with the quality of this film stems from my personal tastes. there are a plethora of movies out there that i absolutely LOVE but couldn't even imagine in my wildest dreams.....so i don't know how you came to the conclusion that i'm upset just because this movie wasn't made in MY, personal, vision.

I watched/listened and squinted to the 9 minute video of the final battle that is up on youtube, I have to say Chatwin is horrendous :(

Note- Spoilers:

I see that people forget to mention that after Goku reverts from Oozaru, he and Piccolo have a short battle where they fire a bunch of Chi attacks at each other and collide with a few punches, THEN there's the beam battle.

This film is getting some terrible reviews. I only read 2-3 good reviews, but not great.
I just saw 2 mins of the Goku V Piccolo which I could barely see. Piccolo looked great from what I could see.

Well, if characters do come back to life all the time, then it isn't such a spoiler that Piccolo is still alive.

It does since it essentially tells audience members, "Hey, remember the alien race Goku is from? Yeah, they're going to be the next villains." That, to me, is a major plot point spoiler if I wasn't already aware of it. Sure, you could argue that when the sequel comes out, most returning viewers would know the rough plot outline and who the villains are but this is far in advance, before having any plot/context to frame it on. You must remember, the general audience won't get immediately excited about seeing Saiyans since they don't know much about them or how bad ass they are, as opposed to Piccolo.

I don't get it what you're saying there. The producers do have a rough outline of where they want to go with the franchise but they simply aren't telling us. But whatever it is, it includes Piccolo making a likely return and they want the audience to know his survival as a fact.

I definitely can't argue there since you're the only person who knows how you feel and think. I just got that vibe off your comments since the complaint in question was that they decided to show Piccolo as the end credit cliffhanger as opposed to showing Saiyans. Maybe I came to the wrong conclusion in which case, I apologize.

Not directly. He got blasted away along with Piccolo as an end result of 2+ minutes of beating on and blasting each other, then he stands back up and says his "I am Goku blablablah" and uses the Kamehameha. The 2+ minutes is after he reverts from Oozaru form.

Finally saw the ending clip and wow that was awful.

If they do try to make a live action Dragon ball again I hope they learn from this, not sure if I would like see them try again :(

exactly my point....it's so predictable that it shouldn't even be considered a spoiler. however, hinting at a Saiyan presence for the sequel would mean something to the fans while intriguing non-fans and sparking their curiosity as to what that cliffhanger means. it would entice them to want to see the next film more to figure out what this new element to the story is. Piccolo's already been done, we know his story...so why make it even more obvious that he's going to come back? it's the very definition of treating the viewers like they're kids. i understand that this age group is what this movie is made for but did they really make a movie JUST for kids???

as i said, even if they don't understand why the cliffhanger was shown it would spark more of an interest simply because it's a new element. they've already seen Piccolo so it's no surprise that he's coming back. they didn't show a cliffhanger for the first LotR movie that showed Gandalf coming back to life. so when the general audience saw the first trailer with Gandalf the White coming back they were actually surprised.

besides, none of the general audience knew about S.H.I.E.L.D. but it was a cliffhanger in Iron Man. it was a hit amongst fans and it was able to spark a bit of curiosity amongst non-fans.

i don't believe that they have a rough outline for a trilogy. it's hard enough to believe they had a rough outline for the events of THIS film. when i say rough outline, i mean more like a SOLID outline. they didn't even have enough time or talent to properly right THIS script, so i seriously doubt that they really know what they wanted to do with the sequels before they made this film.

I definitely can't argue there since you're the only person who knows how you feel and think. okay fair enough, but my problem with the scene isn't even so much that they showed Piccolo. it's the fact that they make it so blatantly obvious that he'll be back. they don't show Piccolo's lifeless body with a mysterious silhouette walking up to him or something more subtle. they show Piccolo being served a bowl of soup. it's not a hint or even really a cliffhanger, that's a straight up spoiler.
