What the hell do you want? Who the hell do you think we would trade to get a Garnett or Zach Randolph or a good center? It has to involve Deng or Gordon etc. Part of the team is going to be broken up to get a trade like that and you have to agree that keeping the team as is won't get the job done either. But please, answer me this, what is it you see in Ben Gordon? Because I am seriously struggling with that. He seems like a good guy, tries real hard, he just isn't good enough. And you're wrong. The Bulls aren't on the brink of being a contending team, they are a contending team, but thats all they will ever be if they sit still. Do you want a real chance to win a title, or just an underdog team that is fun to root for but in the end won't get it done because the West is just plain better if they make it that far but as was seen this year the East can still handle the Bulls.

You're starting to sound like Paxson. If Kobe is happy, team chemistry won't be a problem. Do the math. If Kobe can lead that Lakers team, or lack there of, to the playoffs in the West, how is it he is going to do worse in the East? What massive ego is there to conflict with on the Bulls like there was when Shaq was on the Lakers? There is none. Yes he will be the main guy, no doubt about it, but the difference is that no one will be competing for that, he will have actual teammates around him that help win games and have won games without a superstar. I just don't get you man. Getting Kobe is the best chance for a title that the Bulls have had in 10 years. Because face it, you think with the team they have now, plus maybe a Joakim Noah you get in the draft or whoever, that they can compete with the Suns or Spurs or Mavericks in a Final? They aren't Detroit, they won't be that kind of team.

The Lakers would be fools to do that.

1. I think you are sorely underestimateing this team. They were very close to beating Detroit. They have Miami's number even when they are healthy. They have shown that they can run with the Suns. They have also beaten Dallas pretty handedly.

2. What I see in Gordon is potential star. It is just hat right now he has poor shot selection. & sometimes he can be a little ball hoggish, even when he isn't shooting well.

3. Tyrus Thomas could potentially be a big surprise next season. He is developing into a heck of a player. He just needs to calm down. He seems to get to excited, & passionate on the court.

4. What you want is a quick fix. I want to see this team slowly develope. I am willing to wait, & go through a few seasons of frustrations. If it means in the end they will have a long run. I look at this team as Fine Wine. Just wait, & all will work out in the end. With a much higher reward.

5. Here is what I forsee happening if Kobe came to the Bulls. Every thing would be hunky dorey for a while. Then Kobe will get pissed because the other players aren't doing all that great. Why aren't they doing good? Because he won't let them do anything.

So Kobe, frustrated will get up in Skiles's grill. Skiles being the Bulldog that he is. Will get in Kobe's grill. Thus createing friction throughout the whole team. Kobe goes to Paxson, & complains. Paxson knowing that getting rid of his star player would be ludicrous. He fires Skiles, & maybe even trades some of the players that were giving Kobe trouble. Thus Shaq, Kobe Part Duex is born.

Kobe does not elevate his team. Bynum, Lamar, Walton, Farmar, even Kwame could be great role player's. It has been proven when Kobe actually decides to pass.

If Kobe goes to the Bulls Ticket sales will skyrocket, but Kobe will squelch every single good player on that team. Till there is nothing left. Then he will B**ch, & moan. Then either be traded again, or retire.

If I have to wait it out Redsox fan style. I don't give a sh**! I will be there in 2050 with my breating apparatise on. Watching them win a ship, & think at least it wasn't with Kobe on the team.

AGAIN!.. its time to call him out...

but the bulls or knock or celts want him.. i can see us being a TEAM again i dont care if we only win 15 games... we will be a TEAM:cmad:

The hold he has is if he doesn't get to take at least 40 shots a game he'll @itch and whine until they get traded. He destroys morale and team play where ever he goes. The best player in the NBA and he can't buy a ring once he went all @itch.

Chicago is up and coming but if they get him they're screwed.

Ray Allen Interview on October 14, 2004

"He's going to be very selfish," Allen said of Bryant, who scored 15 of his team's first 20 points and had 35 points in Tuesday's loss. "And he feels like he needs to show this league and the people in this country that he is better without Shaq. He can win championships without Shaq. So offensively, he's going to jump out and say, 'I can average 30 points. I can still carry the load on this team.'

"I think the point production is not going to be so much what people are going to look at because (Tracy) McGrady did it in Orlando, Allen (Iverson) did it in Philly. Can you win a championship? I think that's the question. Carrying guys on your back and making everybody better."

Can Bryant do that?

"He has the talent, he can do it," Allen said. "But is his attitude going to allow him to take a back seat and let Lamar Odom shine and let Caron Butler have his nights and bring those big guys along with him?"

Allen said Bryant's ability and willingness to incorporate others will be the gauge for the Lakers' success. Bryant was re-signed for seven years at more than $130 million this summer.

"If Kobe doesn't see he needs two and a half good players to be a legitimate playoff contender or win a championship in about a year or two he'll be calling out to Jerry Buss that 'We need some help in here,' or 'Trade me,' " Allen said. "And we'll all be saying, 'I told you so,' when he says that."
Oh, that Ray.

good post J .. it sucks i had to defend him... alot of shaq fans told me the same to.. i was conflicted by my lakers fandom.. how could i NOT root for someone in the armor??

but enough man... he really is a snake..:cmad:

Why aren't they doing good? Because he won't let them do anything. The idea that the Bulls are an "up and coming team" is a myth. Its not true. If they stay the course, they are competitive for a few more years, and then its back to rebuilding. And by competitive, I mean by getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first or second round.

So Kobe, frustrated will get up in Skiles's grill. Skiles being the Bulldog that he is. Will get in Kobe's grill. Thus createing friction throughout the whole team. Kobe goes to Paxson, & complains. You are thinking exactly what I fear most from Paxson. Wait it out? This is what we have been doing the last 3-4 years. I am not even going to go into the Tim Floyd-Bill Cartwright era before this. There isn't any time here. This is the window of opportunity, right now. You think Wallace is IMPROVING? Ben Gordon has no defense, he is not consistent enough to depend on him late in games and he has no size. Him getting taller is not going to "develop" over the next few seasons. Miami is an old team, the Bulls should dominate them even with a healthy Wade. Dallas and Phoniex yeah they played well against those teams in the REGULAR season. Just like they played well against Detroit in the regular season. Didn't seem to transfer too well. And that one win against the Suns was with Nash not playing that game, so you can pretty much disregard that game.

You're not looking at this team realistically. Realistically, Deng is good, but will he get THAT much better? In all likelyhood no. Will he be THE guy to depend on in late game situations? No. Hinrich is good, he has good defense, but gets into too much foul trouble , and has inconsistent shooting nights and combine that with the fact that you can't really have Gordon and Hinrich out there at the same time, because Gordon isn't a SG and neither is Hinrich, they are both PGs. And Gordon has the tendency of not playing good D because he is a midget compared to everyone else on the court as well as having inconsistent shooting. Seeing the problem here?

Noicioni is a great hardworking player, willing to do anything, good defensive player as well. But is he going to be any better than he was last season (not this year because he was hurt). Probably not, he most likely has hit his ceiling, and Deng is better than him. But he provides good depth. Wallace is not going to age like fine wine, thats just a pipe dream. Anyone can tell you that.

The only players I see that have good potential left or looks likely to improve on this Bulls team is Tyrus Thomas, Hinrich (maybe, he may not get any better) and Deng. Thats it. Basically everyone else is going to play how they are now or worse. What you have seen is what you will get. And thats not going to cut it, not even in the East as we have seen. What chance do you think they have against a team like the Suns or Mavs or Spurs or even the Nuggets in a playoff series? This team is not going to get better with age. They don't have the kind of team make up as the Spurs or Detroit, because quite honestly they just don't have the players talented enough to be that kind of a team. Every time I see people saying the Bulls are an "up and coming team" I laugh. Thats a myth.

And the idea that getting Kobe for ticket sales is dumb, the Bulls have been in the top 5 of season attendance for years now, I believe they led the league last season.

Dude, I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree here.

I do agree that Changes need to be made. Kobe isn't one of those changes.

It comes down to that fact that you don't believe in this team, & I do. Only time will tell who was right.

Apparently, KG is now OFFICIALLY on the trading block. Old Celtic teammates (Ainge/McHale) have confirmed the yapping.

Garnett to the Celtics for Jefferson, Rondo, Ratliff's contract, and some draft picks.
Garnett and Pierce together? Holy ****, that'd be entertaining.
Now let's put Gasol on the Bulls and see what happens.

24 was Bradley's # and it's retired in NY, so since MJ went from 23 to 45, Kobe will go from 24 to 46 :p

Anyone here post at the pro sports daily forums? I lurk alot just wondering if I should sign up

Never. Ever. Ever. Ever.
The only player I'd even consider trading Dwight for is LeBron. Nobody else. :down
yeah .. we will see... you don't pull the strings..

that would be so Karma.. Ben.. you would have to be a Lakers Fan:woot: :trans:

The speculation is that if it happens, the Lakers want a bona fide star in return (probably with some throw-ins). It seems that if he goes to Chicago, it'll have to be a three team deal.

I don't know where he'll wind up but I cant really see Kobe returning to the Lakers after all of this.

There's supposed to be a video clip (about half a minute) that some fans sneaked of him where he's ripping Bynum, Kupchak and the Lakers in general. The people who have it say they plan to sell downloads for $1.99. I want to see this ...for free, of course. :o

He definitely has to go because I don't know how he's going to show his face to his teammates and try to be some kind of leader after he's been throwing them under the bus all summer...especially Bynum :oldrazz: Not very good for team morale.

And the Ray Allen article is too funny.

More like I just refuse to watch the Magic until Mamba retires. :down
I will never cheer for the Lakers. :down

If he does stay with the Lakers. Do you all think he could be the first Laker player to be booed by his own crowd?
