Phils may look at Jose Guilen....anyone know anything about Pedro Feliz...another rumored possible Phil

Rookie of the Year to be announced today for both leagues.

Red Sox have until tonight at midnight to sign Lowell.

It will be

AL
Pedroia
NL
Tulo or Braun...probably Tulo

Pedro Feliz is a great fielder and the most recent posistion player the Giants have produced. He's not much offensively but if you brought him to that bandbox in Philly he'd probably fare better.

Guillen would have to be a cheap, 1-year incentive laden deal. However, that's unlikely given who the Phillies' GM is.

I'd like to see Santana Peavy walk....I don't reall get to see them pitch much because of there current location...even if it is a division rival.

I saw Santana pitch against the Mets this year. It was his 92-pitches compete game (only 1 K surprisingly). I had left early. I was only going to stay if the Mets were winning or Santana was pitching a gem (He did but it was a boring gem).

Here's a neat article I found on Fox Sports. Most of it is pretty unlikely but it's still interesting. I always like reading these things.

Jose Guillen is also a rumor for the Cardinals. The Cards could use a guy like Guillen to give them 20+HR. If the Yankees don't sign Lowell or trade for Joe Crede, then Feliz may be an option for them. Feliz doesn't offer them much so I don't see them going that way. Wilson Betiment could play third base, but I think they want him to keep playing at first and keep Giambi as DH.

That's what I keep reading....great glove average at the plate....if he's better offensively then Nunez then I would be fine with the signing.

At this point its just one option, one I really don't like to be honest..

Jon Garland is always talked about being moved it seems.

I'll take Bartolo Colon...has he ever been in the national league? Montreal?

I love reading these also. A Jon Garland trade might happen because if the White Sox want to sign Tori Hunter they may need to unload Garland's $12M salary if they want to fit Hunter in for 2008.

edit- that was the rumor I heard. But I pretty sure the Sox have plenty of money to afford both.

Pedroia was easy in the AL

NL on the other hand was just about a toss up between Braun and Tulo. The offensive stats show superiority to Braun. His road numbers which mind you were lesser than his output at Miller Park(.322/.356/.610) were better than Tulo's stats at Coors field (326/.392/.568). Tulo's stats in non Coors parks drop drastically (.256/.327/.393). So I think it's pretty clear why Braun was able to win if you look at it that way. Defensively on the other hand, Tulo was a hell of a lot better than Braun who wasn't that great. I can assume that disparity was why the voting was so close.

i think that's exactly why it was so close, though braun was probably the worst defender at ANY position this year. that's why i'd have chosen tulo, but you can't argue with picking a guy who would have had the highest slugging percentage out of any rookie in history if he had gotten a few more at-bats.

if lowell doesnt sign; we mide as well start making the "Rodriguez" red sox jerseys because thats who well get.

The Red Sox aren't going to go nuts on Rodriguez if they don't re-sign Lowell. There is always Miguel Cabrera or Joe Crede they can trade for.

Cubs trade Jaque Jones to Tigers for Omar Infante.

Oh the horrors you will receive with Jaque Jones. His trademark 18 hopper throw to second base for instance.

The worst at 3rd base probably, I think he'd be better at 1st than Prince Fielder, who probably will end up in the AL at DH eventually.

Checking out their roster, Timo Perez put up good numbers in a handfull of at-bats, I assume Jones would platoon with him or whatever else outfield prospect they have waiting.

Timo Perez isn't an OF prospect. He came up with the Mets in 2000.
