Just wondering, why the Rams and not Lions?

He won't be our starting catcher in two years. The idea for the extra years was for him to be a DH much like Bernie Williams was. When the Yanks have a night game then play again the next day at 1:00, he will be able to play those to give whoever our catcher is a rest. Also he would play doubleheaders. The contract should have been 3 Years for $30M though, but given his good season the only way he would sign was to get more money.
And Matt Millen was the manager.![]()

Janitor mabye?
They're not biased. You can make a case that Beckett deserved it more. He meant more to his team (Red Sox did not have a #2 who won 19 games), he played in a much more difficult park, and he had to pitch against the Yankees (who are tough to pitch to, Sabathia hasn't since 2002 I think).
A lot of you always say it's east coast bias. It's true, the players here get more exposure, but they are under the microscope on a daily basis. The east coast is not for the feint (sp?) of heart.
Blue Jays might persue Roger Clemens and/or Andy Pettite.
Good luck with that guys.![]()
Evidence? Pettitte makes some sense, Clemens should retire.
Could Roger Clemens be returning to Toronto?
The future Hall of Famer has decided to start collecting some of the $3-million US hes owed by the Houston Astros, who signed him to a personal-services agreement in 2004. That may mean hes finally ready to retire, but it could also mean hell extend his pitching career for a smaller base salary.
And sources tell me the Blue Jays are seriously thinking of pursuing both Clemens and his pal, Andy Pettitte. (I wonder if theyll offer Canadian money.)

Thanks, while were discussing the Blue Jays I came across this http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2007/11/quick_go_trade.php and I'm really impressed.
According to the New York Daily News, Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees "have been discussing a deal for the past few days to keep the two-time MVP in pinstripes."
The Yankees were seemingly very clear when they repeatedly said that Rodriguez wouldn't be playing for them again if he opted out of his contract, but the newspaper suggests that they may have changed their mind while stipulating that agent Scott Boras is kept out of negotiations. Rodriguez reportedly "approached the Yankees through a third-party intermediary," but will "have to have person-to-person talks with the Steinbrenner brothers ... before a deal can be sealed."
