Official '24' Season 5 Discussion Thread!

:0 not wanting anything to do with 24??? that makes no sense... He did the 24 game :/

It's because they were planning to kill him off or something.

I think the reason he agreed to 24 The Game is he's pretty much guaranteed to make it out of that one alive.

The voices were recorded during season three. Manny Coto, who was credited as a writer for some great episodes this past season, stated that James Bade Dale did not want to return for the fifth season.

They did write that Chase left Kim. Also, Chase was supposed to die in Mexico until it was leaked.

That sort of makes sense as Chase was pretty much minimized after they returned from Mexico until they cut off his hand.

Hopefully they'll ask him again though and he will return, the timing is opportune and you quit being such a joy kill Slinger :( Let us have our speculation :(

He was supposed to die at the end of season 3 too when they're reattaching his hand.

I just didn't say nuttin' 'cause I figured you're a 24 nut and would have read up on that somewhere.

I really only became a fanatic in season 4. I'd watched the first three seasons casually, but Season 4 made me crazy for 24. Where can I find all this info?

The end of season 3 was what had me hooked.. Right around the episode where kim dressed up as the girl... First episode I had seen :x

Sorry my inner Chole wants to butt in and make things worse.

The episode when Janet and Kim were being chased in the seedy parts of LA had me hooked. I watched the previous episodes but that's the episode that made me a fan and knew I couldn't miss any episodes. Ever.

I just read the IMDB trivia. :(

In my country I´m at the point where Kim is back and Edgar is killed by the gas. The look on poor Chloe´s face is just devastating...

can someone make an mp3 sound file of what jack said in my sig :x cuz.. I want to use it as a ringtone on my phone :x

Meh. This season ranks third for me. If they had used the German as the way to bring back the Chinese, it would have felt like a more complete story. I also wish they hadn't introduced the submarine stuff. It took time away from more important things. It felt like they dealt with Bierko and Henderson in the first acts of the episode, and it felt a little rushed. I did like that Jack finally mentioned Tony and Michelle, though. Then, the AMAZING Logan interrogation with some of the most amazing dialogue in the history of the show (Specifically the bit about Logan going down with Lincoln and Kennedy while Jack will be remembered alongside Oswald and Booth.) Palmer's funeral, after the amazing, perfect interrogation, was... well, sorta lame. My perfect ending to the Palmer funeral would have been Logan being lead away, but then Wayne arrives and kills him in vengeance or something. Having him at the funeral would be too weird after his problems with Logan. Having him not there was just stupid. This is a sort of compromise. Then you get one last scene with Jack talking to Wayne and explaining he understands, then after that the Chinese stuff. Or maybe, Wayne is just there, shooting eye daggers at Logan, and then as Logan is lead away, the other conspirators kill him. Either way, I felt there should've been more closure to the Logan thing and the Wayne plot.

Man, the best is yet to come for you Ultimatefan!

Everyone been saying that Jack should escape in season 6. But this is unpractical. No matter how many times he escapes, no mtter how long he runs, the Chinese will keep coming after him. Something has to happen in season 6, where Bauer is released with China's permission.

I think the season should open with a few undercover American agents being killed in China, and then the CIA gets wind that China might be 'possibly' getting intel on who their undercover agents are from an imprisoned American Agent (Bauer) and they auction his release/taken into American costudy, that way.....
....good way to get Bauer back, they think he's spilling their secrets.

You just described the beginning of Die Another Day.

..oh, i was thinking you know what might have made a cool ending. It may sound a bit over the top, but when the Chinese drag Bauer onto the boat, and the Chinese embassy guy steps out of the shadows, wouldn't it have been cool if....Michelle Dessler was at his side, and she's says something like, "That's him. That's Jack Bauer,....... Father!" after all she is part Asian.

And her death was kinda suspisious imo. They didn't actuall show her being killed, and all Tony saw was a burnt and charred corpse which could have been a look alike (like Travolta did in Swordfish)...or better yet Martha Logan's aid saying the same line, as she's part Asian too!:D

I'm disappointed the way a lot of things went down this season. Specifically Tony and Michelle. I think it was crap what they did to them. Especially when they kept Tony alive for half the season just to kill him. Bull**** waste of time.

Problem is, a lot of loose ends are left open. The true puppet masters and conspirators are still free and in power. Getting Logan out of power does nothing.
