is that gonna be the gimmick of this title: X-Men team up with "insert mainstream Marvel hero(es)" to investigate strange happenings in "insert location"?

That's pretty much how the book was promoted before launch. There was a lot of talk about this being the comic that'd connect the X-Men to the rest of the Marvel Universe. And let's not forget the "We Are The X-Men" promo images we saw a while back that featured an X-man and a random MU hero.

They can put whoever else they want in it so long as Gambit stays. :D

There was a Giant Size X-Men that came out this week, that apparently continues into X-Men #12. Anyone pick it up?

Nope. Thought it had reprint stuff in it. :(

i guess i just dont see why they need to dedicate an entire book for that purpose. though i dont care to see the X-Men mingling with the rest of the MU to begin with, they could just as easily incorporate some of these stories in the their current books or the books of the featured heroes (Spidey, FF, etc.).

Wish they would give Iceman a proper costume and get rid of those tight black shorts....

You know the thing that really bothers me about Iceman's black shorts? 90% of the costumes he wore in the past iced up with the rest of him, but those shorts don't.

Thats what bothers me as well, its just stupid and the look ****e...

I wish they'd bring back his two tone blue outfit from the Blue & Gold team days. Guy at least needs boots - when in iceform he might be more hardy. But as soon as he de-ices, he's not going to be much use walking barefoot on rubble and glass now is he.

I dont get why they dont just draw the costume he's been wearing since coming to SF. It looks really good and I loved when he only iced up part of his body. The black shorts just seems a lazy when to depict him

sigh...yet another something from the past comes to haunt the X-men
