The Dark Knight Official Critics Reviews of TDK

Heh, after the NY guys were done, the movie´s been steadily up, 92% fresh, close to Spidey 2 and Iron Man, 8,4 average rating, that´s slightly higher than Spider-Man 2 if memory serves me.

I had a dream that the TDK RT meter went to 99% after about 300 reviews.

One more positive review up on RT.. The average rating is 8.4... more than spiderman 2 and iron man...

Batman Begins has a higher rating on there than Iron Man. TDK is doing very well in the average rating category despite being on pace for more negative reviews than Spidey and Iron Man. Fact of the matter is that it has more stacked up against it to begin with than those movies do. Those movies are more traditional superhero movies in that they're lighthearted. We've already seen in every single negative review for TDK complaints that it's not lighthearted enough. And the other thing Nolan's Batman movies have to deal with is the fact that plenty of people liked/loved Burton's Batman movies, whereas Iron Man and Spidey are brand new franchises with no previous incarnations to compare and contrast with.

Yeah and alot of people losing faith because of Joel Schumacher's movies.. I don't understand why these critics don't understand the theme of the movie.. . It clearly states in the name "the dark knight"
It doesn't say "the light-hearted knight". It's like going to watch schindler's list and saying it wasn't light hearted..

Nice, howard and robin watched it already? I remember hearing the past few broadcasts of them talking about it.

They attended a screening yesterday, in IMAX. They both commented on the dizzying effect it had on them.
Howard and Robin both effusively praised Ledger's performance.
Unfortunately, Howard also went on quite a bit about how he found it unbelievable that Bale and Eckhart would be competing over Maggie G., who he finds not extraordinarily attractive.

One more positive review on RT.. Total Reviews :100 Positive: 92
negative :8

I posted this on the RT forum:

Before the new reviews came in, the avg was 8.4/10 with 96 reviews. 4 new reviews just came in and they were all positive (although the guy from ubercine was less positive). The reviews look like this:

Larsenonfilm gave it 4/4
That ubercine seems like it's a 7/10
Pastmagazine reads as a 5/5
Outakeswithfiore is 15/10

So please tell me how the avg dropped after these 4 reviews came up.

Just thought I'd mention that TDK is current at 95 positive, and 8 negative, for a total of 103 reviews thus far, for an overall tomato-rating of 92%.

And after having done some simple calculations, we need 4 more positives to get to 93%.

The average rating, at this point, is at 8.3/10

WTH, Those giving Dark Knight Negative reviews, REALLY didn't like TDK that much for a Negative review?

Comon critics, What's the reasons you didn't like it?

am i the only one who taught the scene was rolling very fast

LMAO. Well he wouldn't be Howard Stern if he didn't do that.

Eh, can hardly blame Howard. I don't find her terribly attractive, either. She does have moments where I think she's cute, but it's not something that really jumps out at me.

lame, all these reviews are coming from IMAX screenings. Makes it seem like I'm gonna get a significantly different experience in my normal theater tonight.

Here's my thoughts of Maggie: There's SOMETHING about her...I mean, because she has that 'something' I would date in a heart beat.

ive read through all the negative reviews and i can honestly say i dont think they have understood what nolan has tried to do with the dark knight. i havn't seen the film yet but the feeling i get from the interviews, clips and other tid bits is that nolan is just using the batman mythos as a vessel to show what terroism in the last few years has done to the society on a subconscience level. when the news shows other terroist attacks or more soldiers being killed it affects everyone of us even if we think it doesnt. like my mum wouldnt say boo to a goose but if we start talking about muslim extremists and what not she flys off the handle and says things id never thought she would say. all these critics who say tdk is taking itself too seriously and is trying to be grim because its "fashionable" are ****ing idiots and no it isnt a matter of opinion.

Heres one great review from my local newspaper. The reviewer "Peter Howell" is a pretty reputable critic whos tough but fair, so this was quite a nice suprise to read this morning. To be honest I was expecting him to give 3 out of 4 stars, not perfect.

Also I wish I had a scanner, because in the paper they post what The Star calls "a picture of Two-face thats be circulating the internet", but its definatly not the one that got leaked and looks new to me.. its very nice. lol I love the Toronto Star in all thier innocence.

someone pointed out that Nolan has made another 'Memento', meaning a very thoughtful film disguised as something else that you may or may not like at first, but it lingers in your head. And in time, you'll learn to love it. Is that true?

Unfortunately, Howard also went on quite a bit about how he found it unbelievable that Bale and Eckhart would be competing over Maggie G., who he finds not extraordinarily attractive.

Without seeing the movie i can't really say how that works out but it is an actual concern of mine.

In a superhero movie so much time is dedicated to the hero and the villians that the female lead is usually left with nothing. Look at the last few major superhero movies, even the people who like SR seemed to dislike Bosworth, most people hate Durnst and a lot of people hated Holmes.

So to me unless you dedicate a lot of time to developing the female character, which Nolan may have done to be fair, you have to cast someone extremely hot because the character is so undeveloped that we can't fall in love with that, so we have to fall in love with the boobies.

Unfortunate..

How so?

It just seemed- to me- to be a pretty trivial thing to dwell on, especially for the amount of time that he did. It completely changed the subject, which had been their enthusiasm for the film.
And it was a little brutal, too. But I guess that no one is listening to Howard for his kindness and discretion.
