triplefive said:It's 1:15am but I just got home and I have a big project to do, so I'll be up all night... sup?

What's your fic about?

triplefive said:I don't tend to read X-Men fanfic because, just due to the target audience, they're often poorly written -- absolutely nothing against your story or anything! I just mean from what I've seen. I'm too impatient to wade through all the crap to find the good stuff.

I have a similar pet peeve for people who can't spell the character's names properly. Any time I see someone write "Rouge" instead of "Rogue" I cringe.I'm a really big stickler for grammatical correctness in things that I read (enough so that if someone uses "then" instead of "than", I might stop reading the story).
that's why I prefer to stick to the movieverse. It's alot simpler and more straightforward. doesn't involve aliens or time travel or galactic empires so it's on a more manageable scale and the character backgrounds are much simpler so you don't need to wade through 40 years of details for a character who's only 21 years oldPlus the universes are confusing enough to keep together in my head without fan-written alternate universes muddling things up, and many fans

I go to the University of Western Ontario... until Thursday, when I'm done for good.
triplefive said:Yeah, the fandom's fic suffers major quality problems... but then I suppose the same could be said for most fandoms. There are also a lot of squicky (to me) pairings, and that's saying a lot, considering I'm a REALLY open-minded person.

LOL, I loved the nudge to the fanfic writers in Ultimate X-Men... something in the Magnetic North arc... when Kitty finds Bobby's emails to Rogue, which she points out that he spells as "Rouge".
I've seen you mention that novel in another thread... I'll maybe look into it when I'm done school. I'm not sure that I can put in that kind of time though! It looks LONG.
And yeah, what kind of calendars do they follow in comicverse anyway? Scott's a bit older now, but he's clearly not pushing 60.
[/QUOTE]School-wise, it's the summer term, and I'm only taking one course... Instead of a final exam, we have a 50% group project. I would have preferred writing a final... it's like ripping the bandaid off.

bexta89 said:Edit: Re:ntcralwers post...what's wrong with Scott/Logan? Lol. I find some of those stories cute...if they're done right.
triplefive said:FWIW, I don't think Scott and Logan could EVER be "cute" together... gruff and manly, maybe... possibly some angsty hurt/comfort, but just no to any kind of romance. Scott can't express his feelings and Logan barely has any sometimes... it's not like they'd talk it out over a candlelit dinner. It'd be dirty and wrong.
imo.
triplefive said:It's a character thing.
Are they writing Scott and Logan? Or are they writing two lovesick boys wearing Scott and Logan's bodies?
And ntcrawler, I'm at my parents' house, far far away from campus, so there's no 24-hour Timmy's aroundI'd prefer a 24-hour Second Cup or Starbucks though... mmmm green tea lattes.
