You must know that Cyclops was practically nonexistent in the original story of God Loves, Man Kills, but I agree, they should have given him more to do, though he kicked ass with what he was given.
The lack of Cyke in GLMK would be an issue if they were actually trying to stay close to real X-Men stories. Given the number of other things that are changed (eg General rather than Reverend Stryker) they should have at least been able to find a significant sub plot for the leader of the X-Men. :(

Ratner: So... I was saying...

Famke: -playing gameboy-

Ratner: you listening Famkee?

Famke: -thinking- Famk-ah...-keeps playing gameboy-

James: Let her play the game.

Ratner: Good idea...then she wouldn't know she killed you.

James: You call that directing?

My my my, this one looks naughty.

James- I'm telling you Bratner, this scene and the end result is going to piss off a lot of fans.

Brett- SCREW THE FANS! WOLVERINE IS THE BEST! TOM ROTHMAN IS THE BEST STUDIO SUIT THAT I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED.

James- If only I could actually use optic blasts right now......

Famke- You think you got it bad James? Look at what they did to me later on in the film.

A few pages back someone asked about the audio commentary and whether there's any discussion of Jimmy in it.

Actually, yes. When Jimmy first appears, Simon Kinberg says that "He's barely in it, but Jimmy gives a great performance" to which Brett Ratner responds "Oh definitely. Second by second... per capita, it's the best performance in the movie." :word:

However, I'm currently JUST past the scene where Cyke was killed, and there's been one other moment in the commentary that really bugged me...

According to Penn, when Storm says to Xavier that "There's something you're not telling us," everyone assumed she was referring to the cure. However, he says that actually, he's referring to the fact that Xavier has psychically sensed Jean's return! Holy CRAP! And you thought that Xavier was a jerk for dismissing Scott so easily before because he didn't get over Jean's death in 8 months... now he apparently knew everything about Jean's psychic activity (which might've given him a hint as to what was going on with Cyke, you'd think) and just didn't care!

There are other fun bits in the commentary so far, too, such as Ratner copping to the fact that they just used footage from the previous films whenever they show an exterior of the mansion (!) and Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg admitting that they have no idea what the exchange between Logan and Storm at Alkalai Lake is even about (!). Man, how much were they flying this thing on autopilot?

well i thaught everyone knew already that xavier knew jean was alive and that she was going to return..different. Thats why Xavier tells storm she will take over because scott isnt fit enough because of jean and he suspects jean will be the end of him(Xavier)..

I got a nice picture of James from my sisters mag, nice poster on him on his bike I was like what James instead of Huge lol.

Apparently, they think that filming a movie doesn't necessarily require using their brains.

I've just read all of that, and I think that's disgucting. They're basically admitting that this film was a cheap rip off

My god, how could we give those guys credibility? They treat the fans as idiots, imbeciles. That's what they are.

bravo flavio. i couldn't have put it better myself

Quite a few of the reviewers mentioned that Jimmy's performance was the best one.

It's also been noted that it seems as if they didn't even see the first two films and Zak & Simon's comments about the exchange between Scott and Logan in X2 just confirms that. I always knew their position that they're the two biggest fans EVAH was a load of BS. Thanks dummies for confirming it for us. Losers.

Weren't they writers on X2 though?!

And what did they say about Scott and Logan in X2? I haven't heard this story.

Story of X2 was written by David Hayter, Bryan Singer, and Zakk Penn.

Screenplay was written by Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris, and David Hayter.

it was me .. although i find the concept of evil xavier nice. .but executed on screen it makes no sense.. from x2 to x3 theres a complete shift in his character, no transition or anything. that bothered me but a lot of things in x3 bothered me ..

funny about the "best performance" .. well when ur only in the movie less than 5 minutes ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=-B27dtFbqn0 the only scene missing is his talk with logan, which was no more than 30-40 seconds long anways) theres no other reference in the movie for him to have a "bad" scene

please post up anything else mentioned about scott during the film

Penn only got story credit on X2 probably because of a deal to avoid litigation. Every idea/concept he proposed was rejected. Yet they still hired him to work on X3.

I'm not sure if it's common knowledge that Penn had an issue over credit for X2. He was pretty bitter about Mike and Dan getting the 'glory' for X2's success. Over on the Xverse Penn did whine about it and discuss some of his ideas that were rejected. Considering how absurd some of them were, I can see why they went in a different direction. As Fox was already in a legal battle with David Hayter, maybe they settled with Penn before it also became an issue.

As for X3. Now we all know that Fox's management was upset over Bryan's defection, so why not hire someone who also had an ax to grind with him?

I haven't posted this here yet, so.... the finished coloured fanfic art by Ntcrawler and me. :D
