re: Minisinoo speaks the truth. (g)

Minisinoo is well aware of the nature of rumors -- slippery devils! That said, Min has also heard the "Cyke dies" rumor often enough and from enough different quarters -- all claming to know "the truth" -- that she's about as convinced as she can be that a given rumor is true.

That said, my main hope is that it may not be PERMANENT, as we've not heard much of anything about the final act (III), and that could change a lot of things. Nonetheless, it seems clear that, once again and at best, Cyke will be treated much as in X2 ... there at the beginning, and maybe -- if we're lucky -- there at the end. (One side note, I did read, somewhere, a rumor that Cyke is in the movie at the beginning and the end. But this is only ONE rumor, and as I've stated before, I'm dubious of rumors from only one source. I mention it for completeness sake, not because I'm convinced by it.)

In any case, keep in mind it's a rumor. Also keep in mind that even if it IS true now, it might change in the filming, depending on the level of perceived negative feedback. ;)

My main caution is PLEASE don't disbelieve it just because you think it's a bad idea, or because Cyke "should" get screentime, or because he's the leader in the comics. Those may all be good rasons for leaving him in, BUT they're not reasons for disbelieving the rumors. Be clear on the difference! The former is based on one's ideas of how it "ought" to be, and have nothing to do with what's been said or implied about what IS. Just because it's "logical" doesn't make it true. One must give a convincing reason that multiple rumors from highly varied sources are all false. I haven't seen anything yet besides the general disclaimed -- 'they're rumors.' They are rumors, but I find them likely rumors. Someone would have to come up with some good data that says Cyclops is alive or that they planned to bring him back in Act III.

I would LOVE that to happen, but right now, the bulk of the evidence as I read it isn't looking good.

The Medicine Wheel: X-Men Fanfiction

Have we heard official word on Marsden. Has he filmed any of his scenes yet?

I'm seriously thinking that some people here have just accepted Cyclops and his possible death here. I don't know why i'm defending Cyclops so much...I'm not even a big fan of his..but I RESPECT HIM in the X-Men Mythos. I swear, some people are more concerned about Storm and her role in X3 then Cyclops.

NO love at all!

Now Hugh and James can compare baby notes (Hugh's daughter Ava was born on July 10).

Now that thats done James. Please get your behind to the X3 set. Pronto! :D

Superman is going on a 1-2 month hiatus. So he can shoot whatever he needs to shoot in that time.

Marsden filming for only 2 months? It's not big of a gap if you ask me..

cangratulations james and lisa :):):):):):)

It could be long enough. With the Ratner allowing onset improv dialogue, and his quick shooting style, Marsden may be able to do enough work to have a decent role, even though he won't be there long.

Waitaminit! He's STILL filming scenes for Superman? I thought he was done with that and was just hanging around Sydney 'cause of the baby...

*sigh* Anyway, congrats to James and his wife.

Haven’t kept up with the X-Men comics but I don’t think Cyclops ever died, right? So why would Marvel, who has done their fair share of bashing the 90's batman movies for not sticking to their comics, kill off a character who never dies in theirs. I was never a huge fan of Scotts but he is the leader, not Storm. Plus does anyone remember the last comic movie Halle Barry headlined in . I think Marvel and Fox are making a mistake especially if Scott Summers is killed off. Arad has said that this movie will be provocative and have people talking but that’s pretty much a nice way of saying its gonna tick people off. Just my two cents.

Although I don't care for Marsden AS Cyclops (I wish Caviezel had stuck with X-Men)....I DO wish Cyclops was more refined. He feels 2 dimensional compared to Jean. Marsden DID do a good job at the end of X2 though....so I hope Ratner gives Scott a bigger/better role this time around. Logan needs to take a backseat........I love Logan to death, but they need to focus on other characters now that Logan's past has been, for the most part, covered.
Couldn't agree more DORKY,as the other characters have to have a bigger role in the next film,i mean WOLVERINE IS BEING MADE SO IT'S NOT LIKE WE HAVE TO KNOW WOLVERINES' PAST IN A HURRY.CYCLOPS has had too little impact in both movies so i hope he makes more of a difference this time around!!!:supes:

agreed. I've always felt that this should of been Cyclops' movie. The possbility is still there for him to shine, so there's some hope..
