THAT should have been the last scene in the movie.
Scott: "Will she be all right?"
Hank: "Don't worry my friend, I'm sure everything is going to be fine. You survived your ordeal in that forest. She will too. After all you've been through, she wouldn't dare leave you again."
Once in a while, evolution takes a leap. But sometimes, it's all right to stay just the way you are.
You're making me sad Ntcrawler.

Why must we be reminded of what could've/should've been? Seriously, the more I think about the whole concept that transpired, the more angrier and disgusted my entire being becomes with "The Last Stand".
As a whole though, and I hate to say this, but in my mind I believe we Cyclops fans have to take some blame as well. We didn't really fight for Cyclops from the beginning like we should've.
We were just excited to get an X-Men movie period. Once the sequel rolled around we enjoyed it much more than the second. As the Phoenix saga was clearly evident at the end of X2; all sense of happiness along with comic book joygasm came to fruition as one of the greatest storylines was going to be brought to life.
It came to a screeching halt in the end. We didn't really start fighting for Scott until it was too late. Perhaps if the Cyclops fans banned together from the very beginning, who knows what could've happened. Seriously look at the Batman franchise.
After Batman and Robin, fans screamed for a darker and a Batman that was much more faithful to the comics/animated series. As a Batman fan myself, it came true with Batman Begins.
I just don't believe we really fought hard enough for the character of Cyclops. It seemed Wolverine fans outnumbered us by the thousands.

With Rothman, Ratner, Penn and Kinberg leading the way, it was virtually impossible to overcome the odds of a greedy corporate bastard and three yes men.
