Look what we've been up to in the photo manips thread last 3 days, I think you can get a nice dosage of Cyclops goodness there :)

Loved it. I loved the one where Cyke blasts Wolverine. Too bad their relationship in the movies was never resolved (then again absolutely nothing about Scott got resolved- Jean, the school, Xavier etc...)

Yeah, so much for all those promises that the chars made, huh? bunch of liars they are :P

You make an interesting point. Absolutely nothing regarding Scott was settled or resolved or even came true.

1. He was Xavier's heir apparent and swore in X1 that if something should happen to the man, he would step forward and take on the burden of keeping his dream going. Nope.

2. In X2, Wolverine backed off and let Scott know that Jean made a Choice. She chose Scott. I guess she meant she chose Scott to be the one she kills in X3 because their relationship certainly hit a dead end.

3. Scott's and Wolverine's relationship. Friends / foes / competitors / teammates. Where it was supposed to go, on what level did things finish? we'll never know.

4. Scott's gift and potential for being cured and being able to see with his own eyes again and not being a threat to people with a single glance. That or maybe finding a way to fix his injury through medicine, technology, or Jean's enhanced TK powers. Again we'll never know either.

5. Scott's leadership of the X-Men. Is he good or bad? What kind of a strategist is he when there are big battles to fight? How is he at training the little X-cadets? Again, we won't know.

6. Scott's relationship with the students. Any close, personal friends? Any special connections or bonds with Marie or Kitty or Jubilee or Terry or anyone taking his shop classes? No answers here either.

7. The man is obviously a gear-head. He has some sweet looking motorcycles and souped-up cars. He never gets to drive them or do anything with them or show off his mad skills at either fixing them or doing some wild maneuvers in them to save the day. We know one of his bikes had that super-speed mod. It'd be nice to see what Scott can do with it.

8. "I won't let anything happen to you". Nope, didn't get to save the girl either.

9. Scott's final fate. That certainly wasn't resolved either.

This guy might as well wear a shirt with a giant ? on the front a la the Riddler, cause he certainly never gets anything answered.

Lol. I tell ya- when the x-3 dvd comes out I want to rent it (even though after the first time I watched x-3 I swore it was also my last) only to listen to Ratner's commentaries and hear what he has to say about this piece of junk. The x-1/ x-2 commentaries are really good - with Singer explaining the decision making and you can just see the amount of thought in the making.

What would Ratner say? "And here it goes BOOM" ? I also want to hear what he will say about Scott's 'death'.

Right on every point! In x-1 we could tell the team was 'new' and Scott was still learning being the field leader (I think the "Storm fry him!" shows that) He must have got better but we'll never know...

And no.8 sums it all up. In the very last movie his fate isn't resolved so what more can we say? :(

"We thought this next scene was pure cinematic genius. It took us days to set up the camera angles just right, and 5 minutes to write the script."

Don't forget the "I won't let anything happen to you" line. He didn't get to do that either.

The only justice is seeing Superman Returns, there Scott Summers aka Richard White is at his best :)

But yeah if it involves Character development, Scott didn't get any. Hell, Angel got less screen time and he got to develop more.

And don't forget "We shot this scene with 5 different hairdos and here by put Jimmy's time to the best use we could find" :down :o

But seriously if he wont say that Cyclops death was very controversial and the fans hated it I'd be (even more) pissed!

Then again, being the puppet that Ratner is, and x-3 being what it is - it's very likely there would be no commentaries.

In all fairness that scene was supposed to be one of the most anticipated moments of the film and one of the most important as far as character relations are concerned, so I would expect them to spend alot of time. You want it to be intense, beautiful, flowing with emotion. Every gesture, every moment well thought out and brought to life. The kind of movie magic that's poetic.
It started out ok but was way too rushed. The music was too loud and obstructive (I'd prefer something a bit more delicate like John William's Luke and Leia theme from ROTJ or the love theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark), but then the scene ended like the camera suddenly ran out of film and next thing you see is Xavier screaming. Maybe he was screaming because he didn't like the way the scene turned out? :D

But seriously if he wont say that Cyclops death was very controversial and the fans hated it I'd be (even more) pissed!

I doubt it. Latest commentary from Kinberg indicates he thought it was brilliant and a perfect way to show how evil Jean had become. Viewers didn't expect this to happen, which means they did a great job of surprising you with a sudden dramatic dark plot twist.

Hey, i'm still waiting for X-2.5

It's ironic how James Marsden's chars seem to win in all his films except the one that was most important.

Really, he said that? I can't bring myself to read anymore of the writers. At first they said that Scott was "poor story telling and they take responsibility" and now it's brilliant?

The only reason "Viewers didn't expect this to happen" is because who the hell kill Cyclops in the phoenix saga??? If that how you write dramatic plot twists even I'm ready for Hollywood...

Slight correction, it was a quote by Penn and not Kinberg. My apologies. I have to dig up the quote, it's in another thread, but the man basically explains that the Phoenix saga is not about love or sacrifice or redemption or between Scott and Jean but instead a jekyl/hyde inner battle showing how dark and destructive Jean becomes.

The general consensus is that the above should be corrected to say "my Phoenix saga" because it's obviously not THE Phoenix Saga.

here's the actual quote. See? it has nothing to do with sacrifice or love or Jean/Scott.

"The message of the Dark Phoenix Saga is not one of self-sacrifice. Nor is it about the fact that Scott and Jean are in love. It is about the terrible, horrific, but ultimately human capacity for evil, and what we must do in the face of it. Even when it comes from inside us. I know a lot of people like to see the Phoenix Saga as a love story, but I don't agree with that. It is a classic Jekyl and Hyde story, including repressed emotions and the like, and the ESSENTIAL moment is that Jean realizes what she has done and destroys (or allows to be destroyed) the dark side of her. I think we got the spirit of it without the details."

Blah Blah Blah.

Last night they showed the pilot episode of 'The Nanny' and James has a very small role in it. He played a waiter who gives Maggie her first kiss.

It was kind of funny seeing Marsden in his pre-pre X-Men days.

I wanna see it so bad! Along with 10th & Wolf. Ever since X2 I've been a huge fan of his.

The Alibi wasn't anything too special... I got totally lost in the storyline and very distracted by the awful job the hair department did on Rebecca. She's one of the most beautiful women in the world -- how can someone mess that up???

EDIT: rly want to see 10th and wolf though
