Maybe I'm crazy but Optimus was completely out of character when he kills Megatron and Nimoy. Megatron just saved his life and he is still like w/e your dead and Nimoy was incapacitated and he just shoots him.

Does that sound like Optimus Prime to you? Oh, and then he follows it up with, "NOW YOU DIE."

I felt sorry for Peter Cullen.

Hell, he was mocking Megatron for pleading for his life.

The way I understood it was, Megs took advantage that Sentinel was busy fighting and attacked him. He wanted to kill Sentinel.. not save Optimus's life.

Yea I think Megs saved Optimus's life because he could of easily let Nimoy kill Optimus but shoots him just before the killing blow.

Nothing was out of character. At all. Optimus had the high ground. Do you think he should have given Sentinel a second chance? Hundreds of people have already been killed at this point! The world was moments away from total slavery. Sentinel was begging for his life like a ***** because he knew he had lost, not because he actually "saw the light". After almost being killed and having his own arm torn off, do you think it was wrong for Optimus to finally END IT?

Optimus had the opportunity to finally silence Megatron. Megs wasn't even trying to save Optimus' life! His prime target was Sentinel. Do you think if Optimus just watched Megs kill Sentinel, Megs would then help Optimus to his feet and.....................what? Become friends again?

I really can't believe this is even an issue. My Gawd.

Haha. Yep, he absolutely was. I'm a Rodimus fan so I always have to hear people deride Hot Rod for being responsible for Prime's death, but who asked Optimus to give a freaking soliloquy about irony instead of taking his shot? He just won the conclusive fight against the guy he's been battling for hundreds of years and he was gloating cause he felt cool just then. Optimus is a general of war, he's not Bruce Wayne's dad in BB, he's not the greatest champion of peace and love people think he is. He believes in freedom and peace and everything but he also knows the price you have to pay to get there and plus he enjoys slaughtering his arch enemies, heavy metal, and getting it on like anyone else. He's a cool dude but he has his flaws.

I haven't seen the movie yet but after observing the carnage in the trailer it looks like the Decepticons must be stopped at all costs. Also haven't they been killing each other off since the first film

I don't have an issue with Optimus killing both of them its just they way it was executed that seems out of character to me for Optimus

I maybe mistaken but didn't Optimus execute that giant Decepticon at the beginning of the 2nd movie (one with the huge wheel) in a pretty brutal fashion. By shooting him point blank when he was already down.

This film was a chore to sit through. Oh Bay...sigh.

I've always been more annoyed by the terrible dialogue Bay gives Optimus at times. When he was trying to stop that giant wheel decepticon in the 2nd movie, he actually said "pull over" because he was 'driving' down the highway. When I heard that in the theater I just groaned.

Besides, he said a lot of corny stuff like that in the original cartoon. G1 die hards should've loved it.

Should have gave the bots more time. Anytime the autobots looked like they were going in Battle they cut to Shia. Was very disappointed in this.

Nothing was as impressive as The Forrest scene in ROTF bot vs bot wise.

Not gonna argue with that. The highway chase/fight was pretty good. It could've been longer. I wish they showed more Ironhide/Sideswipe/Mirage badassness.

Haven't seen the movie yet but is it true the action during the last hour has no narrative flow? Like its seems like random set pieces thrown together that aren't connected? I've heard this from a couple of people.

I have no idea why they didnt. They missed so many chances to show off the most bad ass bots. We pretty much saw all their scenes in the 2 min trailer. The movies over 2 and a half hours. Come on.

They were what I was looking forward to the most.

Just got back from it and I have to say this is the best of the series by far. if you liked the first two movies, you'll love this one even more....if you hated the first two...then why the hell are you seeing this one?

Still think the first is supreme overall. ROTF had the best fight and DOTM had the most chaos.
