Previsualization Begins On X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Rpin Suwannath has joined the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS pre-production team as previsualization supervisor. Suwannath previously worked on both X-Men and X2, including Superman Returns.

Previsualization involves using computer graphics to create rough versions of the shots in a movie sequence. Usually, this is only done for the more complex shots. The advantage of previsualization is that it allows directors to experiment with different staging and art direction options – such as lighting, camera placement and movement, stage direction and editing – without having to incur the costs of actual production [Wiki].

Production is also in the process of signing on visual effects houses to complete special effects for the film, which is planned to hit theaters June 3, 2011.

I suggested Aaron for Scott Summers as well. but this is not right as James and Aaron look similar in age.

My guess is that if this is the case then we will not see him being recruited ( as we saw that in X-men Wolverine ), but the cameo of Scott for opening of the movie with de aged Patrick Stewart. Scott then asked Professor how he became professor.

That's when the movie starts with Charles and Eric's origins. Anyone agree ?

Here's some speculation, on Cyclop's casting:

Remember when there were reports on Singer also looking for Scott and Jean, during his casting sessions for Jack the Giant Killer?

This was reported recently by THR:



Aaron Johnson and Andrew Garfield both met with Singer, for the lead in Giant Killer.

Andrew Garfield is the actor who is also up for Spider-Man. It sounds like that's the actor Devin is referring to, but also here's a recent pic (credit to Electrix for posting it in the McAvoy thread) of Vaughn, McAvoy and Aaron Johnson.

dunno...i would thinks so, since production starts next month (I believe), but hopefully they go against what was cast in 2000-2006 X-movies and get actors they look and feel like the characters
tall, slim, brown haired, strong Cyclops
med. height, red haired, green eyed unsure of herself Jean Grey
tall, brown/dark skin, white layered/big hair, blue eyed, strong Storm
strapping, threatening Magneto

Looking back at the track record of CB movie casting choices in general, I probably wouldn't set such high expectations..

That would actually be great^ all of those would contribute to major character development, even throw in a rivalry for leadership with Scott, whose unsure of himself and you've got enough to develop her over a trilogy

I'd prefer they go with an unknown for Storm, but my other choice (other than Ms. Palmer) was was Jurnee Smollet, as she looks more like Halle Berry, and is another brilliant young actress

Interesting. Didn't I say something the other day about Singer (and by virtue, people that have worked with him) perhaps being more heavily involved than one might expect...?

I don't understand how some people don't get it, even though they are repeatedly told that Marvel do not own the film rights to X-Men, people still come out with "It will be interesting to see if they set the story with the same universe as Thor/Iron Man/Captain America!"

I know this is not the right place for this, I just had no where else to release the frustration!

Movement on X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is kicking into high gear, and now we can add another name to the growing team behind the scenes.

Composer Ilan Eshkeri is in final talks to create music for the Matthew Vaughn-directed film. Eshkeri has worked with Vaughn on previous films KICK ASS, STARDUST, and LAYER CAKE.

Production is expected to begin late Summer in London for a June 3, 2011 release.

According to this article, Aaron Johnson is "pretty much locked" for First Class. They also say that Frank Dillane, one of the Spider-Man candidates is up for a role. The site also mentions that there is a possibility Gambit may be included in the film.
