Guardians of the Galaxy **OFFICIAL** GOTG Vol. 2 SPOILERS Thread

The more I think about it the more I feel like this is the most different MCU movie yet, at no point did I really feel like I was being served the "Marvel formula." In other words, this one will probably stand out from all the other MCU films in a great way. It really feels like Marvel gave James Gunn $200 plus million and just said "Go crazy!"

Been saying this since I saw it earlier in week, this is the first movie that truly feels different from Marvel, and I absolutely loved it,

Pretty much confirmed Ayesha will be back too, right?

I don't know how it is in the comics but in this movie they made the helmet nothing special. I thought the tech behind it was unique until I saw everyone use a similar device to create a jetpack or a space suit.

At one point I swear I saw Rocket spraying on a new part of the ship.

wtf?
I just like the look of the mask.

Yes, Rocket sprayed on a new part of the ship. I guess that is how they can repair it. I thought it was neat but kind of makes the time gem weaker in that aspect.

I thought she was alright, but it'll be nice to see a villain more than once other than Loki. (Not counting Thanos)

Could see her becoming another one of people's favorite MCU villains after the third one.
I hope so she is also another female villain. I have a feeling Blanchett as Hela will be around for at least 2 movies and she is a great actress. Ms.Marvel may have a female villain eventually so Ayesha will need to be really good. I liked her enough as the side villain to set up the next movie. She maybe the side villain again with Warlock being the main one until he opens his mind.

All depends on whether or not Hela will be the replacement for Lady Death

Man, I wish the Warlock scene was longer lol
Loved the Watchers were in the film as well as the post credits lol

As soon as I saw all the skeletons, I looked VERY hard all over for hints of Hela. Didn't see anything

It broke off when he was fighting with Ego in the final battle. I'm sure he would have been able to survive in space if he had the mask still.
I don't think so. I think it was the "light" in Pete that kept him from dieing in the first film. Not sure tho, unless the GENES that allow Pete to hold the Infinity Stone are what does that and not the light

Wondering if they are going to treat the Warlock cocoon in previous films like Thor 1 Odin vault. We saw the gauntlet and other artifacts in the vault yet we know they may have two gauntlets. I think the Eye of Agamotto is in the vault or something too.

Either Ayesha is making Warlock a different way or she received the cocoon from Collector's place. The movie takes place in 2014 and IWs should be in real time so I doubt Warlock is still locked away. We also know Pip is in the movie, that is another connection.

It wasn't the Eye tho, I know what you're referring too tho. I think the the time stone in the Eye of Aggamotto is in some kind of Mystic dimensional room. Hard for anyone to get too, seeing as that room had gateways to the other Sanctums

The last 15 or so minutes might have been my favorite in the MCU.

I'm sure it was always said that wasn't Warlock's cocoon in the Collector's base in GotG1. May have just been a regular Sovereign cocoon they cast off.

Saw it yesterday and plan on seeing it tomorrow before or after I head to the gym. Had a freaking blast with it, was so funny, had good action and some emotional moments.

Everytime a new Marvel film is released I just get giddy at the thought of these characters interacting with the core Avengers. Whether it's Dr Strange becoming a ScienceBro or seeing the likes of Star Lord, Rocket or Groot interact with Tony and Steve.

With Collector's base being destroyed, this COULD be it's new home.

Were Peter and Ego actually referring to the cosmic character Eternity in this film?

I wonder that myself. I would think they were literally since Peter had stars in his eyes at the time

I would like to submit that David Bowie would have been perfect as Adam Warlock

Michelle Yeoh and Ving Rhames cameos had me absolutely gobsmacked. I did not expect those two to be in the film, nor did I expect Stallone's Starhawk to assemble his Guardians of the Galaxy. (Not that I'm particularly knowledgeable about the cosmic side of the MCU that doesn't interact with the X-Men and or Doctor Strange)

But yeah, those were great surprises.

All this time I wasn't sure if Marvel had the rights to the Watchers due to the FF and what not, but they really could've been using them all this time. Was the one Stan talking to Uatu or just a rando?

I believe just a rando since, apparently Uatu is with Fox
