Eli has matured, but he's not the newest elite QB in the NFL. He really had nothing to lose since Peyton already won one and he needed to prove himself after his primadonna attitude with San Diego.
But I will say this though. I am happy for Eli because I honestly feel as though he was probably a lot more mature, more hungrier, and a bit more humble than Peyton. I'm not sure if that really makes sense, but he just seemed a bit more realistic and down to earth. Granted he has acted like a cocky arrogant prick, but he just seems like a throwback to the old school football players that we know and respect.
Elite my ass. Maybe the Giants D line, but Eli is no where near elite, Superbowl win or not.
I'm glad I didn't make that $5 bet.![]()
Eli couldn't of played better than he did the last few games. That was when it mattered.
He has a Super Bowl trophy. He has a Super Bowl MVP's car. He has the biggest, most exciting, most important play since Dallas Clark's "The Catch" with that amazing pass after avoiding 14 Patriot players in the pocket.
Eli IS an ELITE NFL QB.
You do realize he's not the only coach to have done it? Players left before the game was over without shaking the hands of their opponents or anything.
But guess what? Patriots have THREE Super Bowl rings. They've been there before and have already proven themselves time and time again.
Somewhere Joe Montana, Joe Nameth, Steve Young, John Elway, and Troy Aikman are laughing at that statement there.
Players can do it. They are normally spoiled, rich children.
Belichick is a coach. He knows better. He is a representative of the league.
He is the only coach to leave the game before the SUPER BOWL is over. In fact I don't know of any coach that left before the game over - prove that others have. Those that did before are punks as well.
Belicheck has proven his lack of class throughout this year, through out his career - and its not only professionally.
someone one 10 grand......My brother in law just told us a story about a co-worker that was so sure the Pats would win it that he signed away his bonus check in writing to another worker. Our bonuses usually come out at about a thousand dollars or so. How stupid could you be? I don't follow much football, but even I am not that stupid.![]()
