Days of Future Past Official Jason Flemyng cast as Azazel Thread

blah, blah, more of this make it like the comics nonsense, you really can't stop playing that record, can you?

We didn't know the exact extent of the Hellfire Club, just that it had one public face as a casino/club in that scene...

It matches the description from the Marvel wiki:

Today, the Hellfire Club is an overt, worldwide organization. Famous for its lavish annual gala, it is open to the wealthiest and most influential entrepreneurs, politicians and socialites, whose membership is traditionally passed on to the heirs of their estates. Within the Club at large is a secret cabal, known only to a select few. These Inner Circles, of which there are typically one or two at a time, desire to achieve world domination through political and economic influence, subversive activities and the recruitment of mercenary forces and powerful superhumans.

Now quite clearly, powerful people like the Colonel went there and we saw the Inner Circle of Shaw, Frost, Azazel, Riptide. We couldn't get the entire history of it in one film; it's taken the comics decades to establish its full backstory. To expect much more in this film is being a bit picky. You can't fit EVERY detail about EVERY character and scenario in every film. This is a typical complaint from diehard comic book fanatics who can't accept economical storytelling and want a 20-hour movie.

So it would've been silly and taken to long to establish a bit of background to the club and have Shaw with political influence because of his wealth and Corporate dealings?? If you say so.

It did show that Shaw had a lot of political influence though didn't it? He was playing the Soviets for fools, trying to get them to start WWIII.

Not lazy writing actually. The why us simple.

General/commander is placing missiles in weird places and the CIA wants to know why.

They follow him and he happens to be at a casino where his mind is being controlled.

Dude ur just a silly fanboy who can't get over the fact that this story couldn't fit in a large corporation.

Controlled by whom?? Emma? Where was it shown that she was controlling people? No where that I recall. I know on the boat the military guy mentioned cash.

It showed that these officials were just showing up never said why.

Yeah the movie does require a bit of putting two and two together and some common sense

He was the doorman for Frank D' Amico's penthouse in Kick Ass. Hit Girl put the gun in his mouth and shot the other guard at the end. I honestly couldn't believe it was him, Azazel looked nothing like him.

Yeah, you kinda could recognize Flemyng during that closeup when he was smiling at Beast during their fight. Other than that, he's totally unrecognizable..

I think that his portrayal of the character was awesome! Next to Beast, he was my favorite character in the movie. Every single time I looked at him, I just kept saying to myself, "That's Nightcrawler's dad!"

I was very impressed with is teleportation abilities and it seemed to me that his abilities far exceeded that of Nightcrawler. He was able to teleport to locations that he couldn't even physically see, whereas Nightcrawler had to be able to see where he was teleporting.

I would absolutely love it if we got to see Nightcrawler in a potential sequel!

I think if Azazel really wanted to beat Beast and Havok. He could just teleport them in the sea.

Or to an open volcano or something. But that's kinda like comic book logic. They can't end these fights quickly, otherwise there is no drama.

Like say, when Thor and Hulk fight. Thor for some reason forgets his other abilities like dimension dumping, and just slugs it out with Hulk.

For a henchman this guy was great. Far better than Toad & Sabretooth for eg. This is what happens if Nightcrawler goes bad :csad:

He could have, but they'd be left flailing about in the water. He had intent to kill them- a drop from the sky is more straightforward and instant.

Too bad this was PG13. I wanted him to teleport body parts off.

Something I definitely would not want, sounds kinda gross. And how does that work exactly? He only had to make contact to teleport someone, how does his power decide between 'entire person' and 'only this bit of person'!?

Killing people with his tail was pretty awesome
I loved that part where he was moving that guy with his tail as a human shield to anticipate and block the shot.

Sounds a bit too much to me. Pretty horrible actually :csad:

Well it's been done in the comics before by Nightcrawler. I believe he tried to destroy Nimrod by using a technique like this and in the Age of Apocalypse timeline he took off Deadpool's head and one of Angel's fingers.

And these are comic adaptions we're talking about here...the ability to teleport isn't logical itself but you could say that Azazel would concentrate on a specific part of a person rather than the entire body.

Unless Locus makes any appearances in the X-Films, give characters her abilities, I don't think any teleporters could or would be able to...

...maybe for Deadpool...but not X-Men...

Yes, I loved that scene too!! I was impressed with Azazel in all the scenes he appeared in, but this one particularly was super!! And the music in the background added more excitement to it :awesome:

Well, Nightcrawler in Age of Apocalypse managed to somehow teleport fingers off as a threat. I think it's doable.
