Official JLA discussion thread - Part 3

I'm sure they'll be turning up in future plotlines in the DCU

Don't get too excited about Hawkman in JLA though. He's being written by Johns so he's probably going to be an angry violent jerk :csad:

As long as he's not the way he is in his book I'm cool. Green Arrow in Justice League wasn't my ideal version, but I still enjoyed it in comparison to his solo book.

How bad is his solo series right now

I've heard nothing but negative things

Very bland Tony Daniel scripts so far with messy art. Art is about to improve, scripts will get worse. It's a bad comic.

Guess they never realized you can not buy his books and complain about how much he sucks month in and month out. :o

I wonder if all of the black room items will play into the Trinity War or show up later.

Look forward to Hawkman joining the League too, it'd be nice to enjoy a story with him in the new 52.

did you see the Haunted Tank cameo? lol

But then there would be a gap in their collections and the concept of "back issue" doesn't exist. Oh, the humanity. :o

That reminds me. You know what's horrible about buying comics that we never even think about?

The limited availability of them where you become afraid not to buy issues because you worry you'll never be able to go back and buy them later. Or even if you can, they'll be way expensive. Or how, if you missed picking up a #1 for an awesome series, you'd have to settle for trades to catch up.

Terrible.

Walking Dead #1 :cmad:

That's why I bought 2 copies of Thief of Thieves #1, read one, sold it the other day for $30 and kept one for myself. :BA

Eh, I never had a problem with that. I'm in it for the tale, I could give a rats ass how I read it.

I like to have first print issues. Don't know why but I do.

I've never really concerned myself with that, personally. If Tony Daniel's Detective Comics #1 is worth a fortune in so many years, I'd gladly get rid of it and maybe shake his hand at a comic con. It might be expensive crap, but it's crap nonetheless.

Awesome comic series are one thing but I don't feel that warrants buying bad comics just to complain about how horrible they are.

Oh, that wasn't what I was talking about at all.

I was more thinking about how I missed Invincible #1, and REBELS #1, and Morning Glories #1, etc.

those are all pretty easy to find and nowhere as much as walking dead #1

Will you get off it about your precious Walking Dead. :o

no. i'll get you #1s of all three of those for a walking dead #1

I think your missing the point though, CCON just wants those #1's not for value but he/she just wishes they would have jumped on the book at #1, I think, instead of trade waiting or some such nonsense.

I just read it in the store to have a chuckle at how awful it is each month

I'm not going to pay money for anything that guy has written

Back issues can be so expensive sometimes

I spent a ton of money on some Shadow Cabinet back issues recently because they're so hard to find and its never been collected in trade

And it should be because its fab

There you go.

And yes, it's a little bit obsessive as its really all about having the entire run collected in the same format.

Either way, I went digital and haven't looked back.
