The thing with singer's MOS is everything i read up on the film is no green light, no script, and no writers hired for the film. We dont even know if it will happen at all with all the talk their has been the last few months of wb looking into do reboots. Then with this green lantern script review as i said before who to say we actually will see the characters clark kent/guy garnder(spelling?). Maybe the ring will tell the alien green latern their is a kryptonian on earth or maybe it flys by the planet and we see clark's desk but he isnt there.

Didn't Routh say that they had writers working on Man of Steel?

It'd be smart of W.B. to give little nods and winks to other D.C. characters in solo films.

Well yea routh/singer have said they have writers to keep the public interest in MOS probably. but from all official fronts there is go green light from wb, no writers since SR writers left, and no script. I dont really wanto get into a whoel debate over MOS happening or not. We just dont know if wb even wants to continue with singer any more since its over 2 yrs now and no offcial developments have happened with the film and since SR didnt preform as well as wb hoped and have more of the public behind it they might think a reboot is the best way to go to give everything a clean slate and all that. But its all wb decision if they want to continue with singer and do his mos film, or if they will do a reboot. What ever they are going to do with supes they really need to get cracking on it if wb is to loose the copyright come 2013(but that is a whole other discussion there).

Hmm, Showtime, I remember you saying a week or two ago that you have heard that GL has been gaining some steam at WB. Now we have this article. Interesting. Anyway, next week I'm sure we will hear quotes from Miller and Gale saying the movie is still totally a go only to be followed by reports in the coming weeks that the project has been further delayed and so on and so forth...

Edit: Reading what IESB had to say about the GL script sounds promising. And supposedly WB is enthusiastic about it. Hopefully it gets a chance.

Which site to believe.

Believe the WB when they say that there still might be a SAG strike. I heard from a friend who is a SAG member that they were talking about doing it next month for about 60 days or so just to get the studio's attention. As far as George Miller, he and Osborne supposedly have the filming rights to Justice League. Unless he optioned them off I wouldn't think he would be off the project.

It sounds like this is over. Miller's pretty much the only person still hinting at this project going places, and eventually they're going to have to do something about all the cameos going on in their various scripts. This looks like it's going to the gutter.

Miller's JLA is dead, he's moving on to other stuff.

They really need to focus on Superman and fix that franchaise before attempting 5 other superheroes.

The report from IESB is what I tend to believe is happening now. At least lets hope so! So I take they have read the GL script or have read a draft or Sanchez was informed that the script is kick a$$? I would accept Miller directing the GL movie ahead of the less experienced Berlanti. Berlanti can remain as a producer/writer. My personal choice for directing the GL movie would be Alex Proyas though.

I disagree.

No matter what happens they'll always have Superman.

They don't even have a successful third serial super-hero film franchise yet.

They need to start giving the public a reason to want these lesser known franchises. The public won't do that unless they do something worthy with them first. This is why Marvel succeeded with Iron Man and X-men while WB's only successful film super-hero franchise is Batman.

well superman does really need a fix after the mess SR made with the character. Then there is still the whole copyright deal with superman and what is going to happen with the character come 2013. As for miller's jla its is pretty much dead as others have said. I do really hope jla will be back one day hopefully within the next 5 yrs or less. I would hate to have to wait like 15 yrs for it to actually happen.

True.

I'm surprised WB isn't in pre-production for a new Superman movie by now, reboot or sequel.

I'd rather they waited until some of the primary franchises are established before they try it again.

I would hate to have to wait like 15 yrs for it to actually happen.

WB could make the waiting less painful by making good adaptions of the lesser JL franchises.

Where's the ''pulling my hair out" smiley?

Yep. This is nuts.

Hard to ignore what IESB is saying, especially if it's coming from multiple independent sources within Warners. I'd like to hear something more official, or at least from someone first hand, not second or third like we're getting now.

True but right now wb doesnt have a good track record for dc films right now only batman has been the best series they got. Singer droped the ball pretty bad with SR. If SR was a better film we probably would be getting a world's finest film now, and a jla film in a yr or two. But since Sr failed and superman is up in the air and before the wholes with wb/dc they have little faith in other characters. Things were not looking good for any dc character who isnt batman. But i do really hope things have now changed since the sumitt talks and they are seriously looking to get gl/green arrow/shazam/etc..... all out there and all these films be good and take the character in the right direction and are faithful and marketed in the right way.

He has said that, and why the writers of MOS (if it is true what he says) have to be kept a secret is beyond me.

Hey, Routh kept it as a secret too. He didn't named the writers either, despite saying there are some who writing for MoS. Ironic, no? :woot: :woot:

Let me tell you what is going to happen. Sooner rather then later, somebody is going to put two and two together, and come up with the theory that Welling SHOULD play Clark in the Green Lantern movie. They are going to point to the fact that the script only calls for Clark Kent and not Superman, thus meaning Welling is Clark. This will lead to Welling playing Superman in JLA.

Then a group will come out against that and insist that Routh is playing Clark Kent because he has played the role before in Superman Returns. They will say this cameo proves that MOS is happening.

Then a webmaster or two will run with a story before it finally dies down on both fronts. Meanwhile, we will still have no solid news on JLM or MOS.

:pal:

THANK GOD I don't want any other actor casted as BATMAN in Live Action medium other than Christian Bale . BALE IS THE BAT Nuff said . :batty:

On a lighter note, I prefer to see The original 4 get their own solo film first, laying a foundation down for their characters . Building upon it their characters in sequels then making a JLA film .

Kind-of like what Marvel is attempting to do with The Avengers .

They could both be right.

WB might have two factions going in different directions.

Good point. Showtime reported quite awhile ago that WB had execs split over to proceed with MOS or JLA. And now maybe there are some who want a GL film over both MOS and JLA. LOL. Don't understand why WB has to make things so complicated.

They are a big company so there may quite a few people on the management side involved and studios like to keep everything close to their chest.

Just my outsider perspective to the industry.

They should create a C.B. film division and have ONE man in charge of it. As it is right now, there's to many cooks in the kitchen.

From our perspective as superhero fans I understand it, but why does WB need yet another level of management/division? And anything that comes out of that still has to be greenlit by the higher ups anyways.
