Bale isn't a big name outside of the internet, so he is looking for a franchise that will propel him to stardom. He is barely known as Batman.

True. Wich is why the whole "The GA won't accept another actor as Batman" argument regarding JL has always seemed pointless to me.

Exactly. That is what I was thinking was going to happen with either JLA or MOS, a quote a quip, anything.
Yeah i guess no one got to quiz them about it. I'm sure SHH, IESB etc would if they could.:o
Well I went into this even thinking we will only hear news for 08 movies, so I wasn't surprised we didn't here anything for MOS or JLA. But I do expect to hear something in April.
We'll see (how many times have we said that?:woot:).

Exclusive Iesb interview with Bale about The Dark knight of course, Terminator (kinda :woot:) and about what.. i mean justice league:D (kinda )
Thanks maze.
so at this time at the WB studios they are polishing the fantastic JL script from 2007 that should change the world?
It will be polished until it blinds us.
I just don't get why Bale is putting himself through all this crap... I mean Batman... now a Terminator trilogy? Reminding me of what Ford did with Star Wars and then Indy shortly after... or maybe Stallone... the only difference is... these two franchises were already major franchises before Bale even boarded either of them... that's a huge difference. Why does he need all this publicity? Not that he doesn't mind but he doesn't look comfortable in the spot light... obviously the money is good but if I were him I would have focused on smaller projects rather than another huge blockbuster franchise... I mean McG is really an attractive director to work with? Anyways I don't mind either way... I just would have preferred him starring in a JLA or WF as his other major blockbuster instead of Terminator... but oh well...
McG is not as bad as people make him out to be. After seeing We Are Marshall my opnion on him has changed a bit.T4 might and probably will surprise people. He's got the blessing of James Cameron which is a decent start.

 Bale is a very well known actor. He is much more well known than say...Brandon Routh.

Ummm thats not saying much. Some people do know who the guy is, but no where close in being a household name. Heck I didn't even know who he was till his 1st Batman movie....

Honestly Retro, where do you find this stuff? Good job, as always...
Seriously, whenever I see "Retroman" with a post, I always expect some tidbit or update!

I was being sarcastic....

To say that Bale isn't a big name outside of the internet is kind of laughable.

^^Yeah...

sorry. can't agree with there. Pre-Batman, yeah he wasn't well known, but after BB, i think more people know him than you think.

thanks retro :)

looks back it's indeed back in production :o

EXCLUSIVE: If you hear about a movie titled 7 FRIENDS, take note!
Justice League is still very much alive guys and I’m of the opinion that all those actors who we have mentioned cast a while back are still locked for this project (with the possible exception of Anton Yelchin) and if it gets going soon they will all be able to suit up pretty quickly.

I also believe that Warner Bros. have spent so much time, effort and money to get the film this far into production that they are scared to death of halting the project indefinitely. They are frantically working on script re-writes and hoping the SAG strike is as quickly resolved as the aborted DGA strike and obviously not the WGA one which would be a worst case scenario.

You can take all this info that I got from an e-mail last night as being legit. Every time we’ve reported on the Justice League we have been 100% spot on so far and although it doesn’t tell us much that we don’t know already, it does confirm a few things (the Owen Paterson rumor that’s been spreading) and the new secret code name…

The code title of the movie is 7 Friends.
The team (incl Owen Paterson) is still officially on hiatus but there’s a skeleton crew working on it in Australia while the rewrites happen. Costume designer Emily Seresin comes in two days a week. What she’s doing? I’m not sure.
Considerable amount of work has already been done incl the construction of some sets.
Besides costumes Weta was/is also slated to do special effects makeup
Suspicions are that the film will remain in Oz but the threat of a strike and a move to Canada still remains
The pic has always been slated for extensive green screen work. [this was in response to stuff I heard about it being a “highly stylised” film - something akin to Sky Capt, Sin City, 300 etc]
An agent said this - “The film is to be done entirely in Australia, with Australian crew. They still have concerns about the script and actors’ strike. It most likely will not start before a SAG agreement is reached.”

^Thanks Maze. I like going the highly stylized route. Gives a clear separation from Nolan's and Singer's franchises.

Emily Seresin is a costume designer. I would assume she is doing the wardrobe for the film.

Terminator certainly made Arnold famous.

If they are doing this as 300 was done I think that is an extremely smart move.

That's certainly going to make it look like a seperate universe from Superman or Batman.

This is probably the only way to keep those skyrocketing cost down. Especially with a weak dolllar.

A 300 style JLA would be nice. :) I am still having a hard time buying DJ as Superman, but I will wait.

They know him as "the guy that plays Batman". He isn't a box office draw and outside of the internet doesn't create anticipation for a film that he has a role in. Before Heath Ledger's death I would've said TDK might've given him that push to becoming a big star but now I feel he will be overshadowed by Ledger. And Terminator has to be something special if he wants it to get him noticed.

If its not one thing its another. Hopefully people learned from the writers strike, that there is no need for an actors strike. Glad Mr. Owen Paterson is on board!

Lets get the ball rolling!

The 10th Anniversary issue of "Entertainment Weekly" crowned Christian Bale as one of the "Top 8 Most Powerful Cult Figures" of the past decade. EW also calls Bale one of the "Most Creative People in Entertainment" after his brilliant turn as the psychopathic yuppie serial killer in American Psycho (2000). And "Premiere" lauded him as one of the "Hottest Leading Men Under 30". Christian Bale has garnered a huge international audience ever since he wowed critics with his devastating performance in Steven Spielberg's WWII epic Empire of the Sun (1987).
