I'm betting Green Lantern will be the next non Bat DC film to make it to the big screen

I'd love to see that film happen. And I believe Hal Jordan is the version they'll be using, so it's definitely a do-able film.

I really want to see Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Teen Titans, Deadman (with Del Toro directing) and Shazam. In that order. Then JL.

It doesn't matter since there hasn't been anything new or different said about it since (October 2007). Until further notice that is the status.

I see..this was said in October 2007, so according to you, it still stands.

They still did it and got one spin-off in the can and some others in waiting. The stories can be different, but the concept is the same (using one film to launch spin-offs of other projects). No one is saying that this is unique. It is just another viable route to an end.

Doesn't necessarily mean they are going that route because you want them to, nor does it mean they are going the opposite way because I want them to.

According to this source the Batman cartoons that are currently running on network TV air to more than 2 million viewers each week and is the 5th top rated show among Saturday morning programing (that's just in the US). This is a revolving viewer ship since the age demographic is around 9-14 years-old, so considering that and the fact that there have been several series over the the past 15 years (BTAS, BB, TB) it would be safe to say that roughly more than 10 million people have seen these versiond of Batman (not to mention those who are aware of these versions but have not seen the shows) and hence your statement about the general public is dubious at best (10 million people is about a third of what you would need to break even on a film like TDK).

Did you type that with a straight face? 9-14 year olds watching animated Saturday morning programs are not the general public...

Yes, you are afraid, because deep in the back of your mind you are afraid. Afraid that the Justice League franchise could be more popular than Nolan's Batman and would rather have it put to the side so that it faces no challengers or threats. If you weren't afraid you wouldn't comment negatively about it, especially since what we know of it is very little (if we knew everything about it then we wouldn't need to see the film).

I don't know whether to laugh or feel bad for you. I comment negatively because I don't like the idea of it, and in my opinion I don't think it is going to happen. I have said from the very beginning, as soon as the news came out...that I didn't think it was going to happen. By your strange theory, that means you are so positive about it because you are afraid it isn't going to happen. I personally think you are afraid that this broad fan negativity and is going to help to kill this movie or bury it even further.

Certainly there are at every level of life. They have never left. I have said this before and I will say it again. The WB has been in this business for more than 100 years. Your calling them crazy for bringing in another Batman bears little credence. This is called diversifying the product and it is done all the time to ensure you can catch other markets that have not been tapped. That's pretty silly to be making statements like that.

So my opinion is silly because it doesn't agree with yours? This so called diversifying the market you speak of, does not happen all the time in film my friend. Old Tarzan movies from decades ago and two James Bond films does not equal "done all the time". Talk about silly.

I said you shouldn't criticize them for trying to please the fans. You do realize that there are Justice League fans out there don't you? I will just leave it at that.

I am a fan of Justice League as well, I just don't want it like this. I will leave it at that. There are fans of Superman out there who don't like Superman Returns, but they love Superman. Same for other franchises, you don't have to be a fan of every incarnation to be a fan of the characters, that should be pretty obvious.

Nothing that we know about, but something is happening. Rember WETA is still on retainer and is working on the project. Like Paul Levitz and others have said it is very much in development which means that things are happening.

Development does not necessarily mean things are happening, movies can be in development for a decade and never happen. You should know that.

MOS will happen... after that law suit is settled.

Maybe, maybe not.

All of this is based on George Miller's comment and now every site is just upchucking the information. It is the same thing that happened with Bryan Singer. "The movie is happening in 2009, the movie is happening in 2010." So on and so forth...
Hopefully someone will start asking things.
It's strange that nobody asked Gregory Noveck at the ComicCon about the future projects.

Very odd, when I saw his name listed as being in attendance, I thought for sure we would get a small quote at least.

Me too. But alas, nothing. :csad: When is the next big Con? Or Wizard World, maybe?

I just remember this time last year everyone was *****ing about the absense of The Dark Knight at the San Diego Comic Con.

Then I think it was at another Comic Con in August or October that Nolan & Co. screened footage...

The difference is, we already knew The Dark Knight was in production.

Him being part of the movie is proof that George Miller shouldnt so much as touch the Justice League.

Maybe we should wait until we find out what the part that he was in entailed. After all, Baruchel had a substantial part in a Best Picture winner and he certainly could play the role of a comic relief henchmen pretty easily.

The rush to judgement on a movie where there's been no formal script review and not even a glimpse of preproduction art is astounding.

Great, so we can look forward to Baruchel playing the lead villain in the film or the comic relief henchman. Can't wait! :down

That footnote in the Australian newspaper is snowballing into the news that the project is back on track on sites and papers worldwide.

If the rumors were true, Baruchel as Maxwell Lord is one of the most idiotic casting choices since, well...Ever.

It doesn't fit their notions of the justice league therefore its bad. simple as. We with open minds can take a higher ground:cwink:

Difference being, that Justice League actually began preproduction. Now, I know many movies die in preproduction, but Man of Steel is probably just a script or a screenplay, if anything. Just sayin'...

Many here have been saturating the forums with similar comments from Miller for over 6 months.
