Noticed on imdb that D.J. Cotrona has scored his first role since JL got shelved. He's going to be in Lasse Hallström's adaptation of the novel Dear John starring Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, Scott Porter and Richard Jenkins. Not bad.

And the man who was nearly Batman (Armie Hammer) makes into this month's issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

Also, here's a little bit of trivia to add. The crew were using Panavision's Genesis camera for what ever test shots they were doing in preproduction before the plug was pulled.Director of Photography Dean Semler has used it in the past.

Yeah, that's a pretty decent project for someone like Cotrona. And Hammer still looks nothing like Bruce Wayne.

Well it nice to hear they are doing work. But we all know even if a jla ever does happen and likely wont for many more years this jl cast will likely not see themselfs playing the roles.

As a younger Bruce Wayne? I think he could have done fine given the chance.

well the whole thing though when the film was happening originally it was to be connected to SR/BB right before things were changed around. So both the supes/bats actors wouldnt have been the right people(Though SR supes in my mind was also wrong).

In a recent edition of Australian Shooter magazine Greg Van Borssum talked a little about JL and Megan Gale.

He credits his great eyesight to his years of combat training and, according to Greg, that is both a good and bad thing. “When my shooting is on the money, my vision helps me to fire really well.” But, when he sees that he has dropped a shot during a competition, he has a tendency to let the rest of the match go downhill.

Greg’s enthusiasm for shooting has seen him introduce many people to the sport, including Australian supermodel Megan Gale and Australian rock singer, actor and TV presenter Angry Anderson. Megan and Greg met during the filming of Justice League; Greg was responsible for all the film’s fight design work. Unfortunately, the film was put on hold in 2008 due to the writers’ strike. According to Greg, Megan was “very intrigued by the sport”. So too was Angry Anderson. “I took him to the range for a shoot recently and he loved it. Even our industry work colleague John Stevenson (director of Kung Fu Panda) wanted to come and try it out,” recalls Greg.

Thats a nice little interview. Looking back at the film's process now even though i didnt like most of the casting choices, and some of the rumor plots i do wonder how the film would have turned out. Would it have been a campy superfriends mess, an ok film, or a decent film. I still would love if those costumes the actors have said they were testing in and getting things set make it out to see the light of day, i am still curious to see how they would have gone looks wise for the heroes.

I believe Justice League ("Mortal" was only a working title :o), if made, would be pretty much like G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra: Good actors, Good SFX, advanced technology and non-stop action scenes intercut with flashbacks and flashfowards.

It'd be awesome.

GI Joe had s*** SFX...horrible that was my biggest complaint and crappy dialouge I hope whatever JL film is made it's nothing like that

I think with the custody rights of certain aspects of Superman reverting back to the Siegels and Shusters, one of few options the WB has is to revive the JL movie with Superman (and not step on the toes of having another origin story or the like).

Have new writers revamp it, get a new director and a fresh new cast onboard.

They're better off just doing another Superman film than trying to ressurect this clusterf%ck

Especially with Nolan pissed off over having two Batmans..

I wish you guys would stop with the "Nolan is pissed with two Batmans" nonsense. I remember he said that he would prefer to finish up his Batman story, but Nolan can't physically stop Warner Brothers from giving a JL movie the greenlight.

Remember, we were nigh on close to having a JL movie this summer -- if the WGA strike didn't happen.

^ only problem is, his movie ended making a lot of money, so unfortunately I think WB is going to be very careful about a JLA movie if it means not having a guaranteed money maker in Batman 3

The gameplan changed after TDK.

The WB are really going out of their way to not upset Nolan; which worries me about the status of Batman III assuming Nolan drags his heels on it.

Never the less, the studio isn't interesting in doing an ensemble feature like JL this early in the game now; they want to focus on the individual franchaises (Batman, GL, Superman, Flash, Green Arrow, Aquaman), we got this straight from Robinov himself.

You really have to understand the context of the JL film. Batman begins came out, and didnt really set the box office on fire, but it did what it was supposed too, namely wash away the bad taste of batman and robin. Then superman returns came out and performed far below there expectations. Thats why that Justice League film was even considered because it was a last ditch effort to make some large coin. After TDK came out they really didnt need to take that type of risk like man of tomorrow said, TDK really did change the game plan. If it hadnt made the money it did, we probably would be watching JL right now.

The opening 24 hours of TDK signed the death certificate of JL, and thank christ it did.

Yeah, but remember Warner Brothers could easily change their minds if GL doesn't light up the summer 2011 box office.

Do you think Bale would be up for JL after Nolan is done. I read an interview and it kind of seemed like he didnt like the idea at all

Bale did terminator and reign of fire... I'm sure if they signed the right cheque he would do it.

It should be interesting now to see if wb will be able to get any reboot/supes film out by the deadline, would they if its a reboot still be able to have krypton/jorel/lara/etc.... elements still. Same goes with a jl film we are likley now not going to ever see supes/batman team up in official big budget live action film.

I do, give an actor a big enough pay check and they'll do whatever
