Pokemon Puzzle Challenge (Nov. 6th, $4.99)
Pokemon Trading Card Game (Nov. 13th, $5.99)

Both are coming to the 3DS VC. Oh, the memories of TGC. Never had an actual card in my life, but played the **** out of that game when it first came out.

I am buying the &%*# out of Pokémon Card GB! I loved that game on Game Boy!

I've never played a Pokemon game in my life. I was never interested in the concept of the card game when I was younger, so I never even looked into the games on Nintendo systems.

It's a fun monster collecting turn based RPG. I love it cause Meowth is totes adorbs. :atp:

That TCG game is day 1 buy for me. I had it as a kid for only a short time. Lost it when my family went on vacation on year. I loved that game!!!!

The TCG game was fun. I had it, but lost it a LONG time ago.

Will the TCG Pokemon game teach you how to play the trading card game?

I am so getting that and the new Pokemon

I bought Fantasy Life. This game is so much fun. It's definitely worth a 3DS owners time.

I just don;t have time for it. I still play Smash just about every night, and then I have a ton of console games I'm trying to get through. And then of course, Smash U is about to come out.

I'm using it to fill in the space until Smash U and Omega Ruby. It's a fun little time waster of a game. My girlfriend, my best friends wife, and myself all bought a copy yesterday.

Dreaming About New Nintendo Hardware - Game Scoop!

21 hours 45 minutes ago - Nintendo is most likely already working on a new handheld. Game Scoop! discusses. See More »

This does seem like a rather odd move for Nintendo to be doing so soon after the announcement of a new 3DS.

It's not odd. Nintendo begins root work on new hardware as soon as the latest hits the shelves, so hiring people to work on new hardware isn't that strange.

So, Best Buy is have a BOGO 50% off on 3DS games starting today (not sure how long it lasts), and sale on XLs for $175. Personally, I'm not touching anything until Black Friday comes around, but for those who might be interested, there it is.

Wow. I just bought Fantasy Life at Best Buy. Should have waited, dammit.

Yeah, they've been posted. I'm just not a fan of the 2DS design.

Yeah, I'm the same way. It's unfortunate that these colors or designs aren't available for the XL 3DS.

Tales of the Abyss is one of the few Nintendo 3DS games only available on a cartridge. That will change on December 3 when Bandai Namco re-releases the 3DS version on the Nintendo eShop in Japan.

The Japanese version will cost 2,980 yen and includes a 3DS theme as a bonus. Bandai Namco has not announced plans for a re-release in the West, but it seems likely since an eShop version will be available in other regions too.

New Nintendo 3DS Is Performing Similarly To Nintendo DSi In Japan. November 17, 2014 . 2:29pm

Japanese sales tracker Media Create says the New Nintendo 3DS should be able to reach 1.2 million units sold by the end of the year.

The New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL have sold a combined total of 500,000 units in Japan as of November 9th. Japanese sales tracker Media Create reports that it is performing similarly to of the Nintendo DSi, the updated version of the Nintendo DS, when that device launched back in 2008.

The circumstances leading up to the launch of both devices are similar in other ways, too. Sales of the Nintendo DS line in 2008 were 2.49 million—42.93% of the total DS sales the year prior—leading up to the launch of the DSi. Cut to 2014, and Nintendo 3DS sales this year were at 1.6 million—49.55% of 2013’s 3DS sales—prior to the New 3DS launch.

In its launch year, the Nintendo DSi made use of the end-of-year holiday period to increase its sales, and reached 1 million units sold by its eighth week (which was the third week of December). By the end of the year, it had sold 1.2 million units.

Six years have passed since then, and the market has changed a great deal. That said, while a direct comparison is hard to make due to the time-gap, Media Create estimate that the New Nintendo 3DS, too, should be able to hit 1.2 million units sold by the end of 2014, owing to the upcoming release of million-sellers like Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Yo-kai Watch 2: Headliner.

The real question, of course, is how the Nintendo 3DS line will continue to sell beyond 2014. Nintendo and third-party publishers will need to continue providing meaningful support for the 3DS to sell people on the device, whether they’re upgrading from an older 3DS model or are newcomers to the 3DS entirely.

Nintendo To Discontinue Old Nintendo 3DS XL Model In Japan. November 30, 2014 . 1:31am

Nintendo will discontinue production of the Nintendo 3DS XL in Japan, the company has revealed via its official website.

Nintendo will discontinue production of the Nintendo 3DS XL in Japan, the company has revealed via its official Japanese website.

The 3DS XL section of Nintendo’s 3DS homepage has an “ending production soon” notice next to the seven Nintendo 3DS XL colours that are currently on the market in Japan. It appears that the New Nintendo 3DS XL will soon be taking over as the go-to 3DS model in that region.

Meanwhile, in the case of the regular Nintendo 3DS model, select colours like Clear Black, Metallic Red and Gloss Pink will remain in production.

This makes complete sense, of course—the New Nintendo 3DS XL has been the best-selling 3DS model since its October release, and also the best-selling videogame platform in Japan overall. Japanese sales tracker Media Create estimates it will hit 1.2 million in sales by the end of the year.

Nintendo have not specified just when they will discontinue production of the old Nintendo 3DS XL model. The company also has not shared any specifics as to when the New Nintendo 3DS line will be released outside Japan.
