Official Rock Band 2 thread

Loving it so far.

Only problem I have had is that the track stops moving for a second and then starts going again sometimes.

It's exactly what I expected it to be.

We went to Gamestop for the midnight release, and of course, they weren't having it. Which is weird, they did it for RB, GH3, GH:A...I guess the demand is more for GH4??

I will say, I like this track list better, and I'm certainly ready to get a band and head online (something I've wanted since they first announced it for the original RB:cmad:)

Man, can't believe how many people got this game early, by the 9th, and already have 1 million fans....that's devotion!

So what's everyone's opinion on RB2?

It is pretty damn good. I love the new drumset. I've already FC'd 5 songs on Hard (Today, Eye of the Tiger, Charlene (I'm Right Behind You), Nine In The Afternoon and I forgot the other one :o)

My biggest beef are two things:
1) Harmonix has yet to update the RB website with RB2 worldwide rankings. Myself and my band are in the top 2,000 of everything we've played in.
2) There is no solo world tour mode anymore. :down

But I give it a solid 9/10

That sux. :csad: I'll probably play it solo most of the time so a solo world tour would've been welcomed.

Yes there is  It's just not a linear game path like the solo tours of old. Its a 'play the main game either by yourself or with friends' tour. Not to mention the Challenges work pretty much like a linear pathway.

I'm downloading the Rock Band Tour '08 track pack right now. It's so nice to know that my collection of DLC songs will still be good when I pick up Rock Band 2 this fall. :D

Delicious accessory pictures!

nothing is really different on the game, but so far i have made a nazi commander and vietnam vet so i am happy!

and tangled up in blue is always a good tune!

what do you guys think of the never ending setlist 2?

Better quality, presumably non-rendered picture of the Rock Band cymbals

They look a lot cooler than the old renders did-- much more like real cymbals from a real digital drum kit.

I dont like the positioning of the cymbals. It seems like a lot of accidental hits could occur with them there. Hopefully like the ION kit, they can be moved. Anyway, anyone else play around with the photo maker on the website yet? I give you...The Improper Nouns!

The cymbals are adjustable. While you don't get quite as much positioning capacity as the Ion kit (obviously), you can still pivot the angle from which they sit around the drum kit, and you can adjust the height.

I just saw this and want to point out, yes there is a linear solo world tour. It's the challenges. If you want, you can pick one instrument, play through the 7 (8?) teirs, and unlock all the songs by yourself, just like in the last game.

Did you guys know that they're coming out with an AC/DC track pack disc?

http://soundcheck.walmart.com/acdc/#/game

It's being sold exclusively at Wal Mart, but if it's AC/DC, I'm all over it. It comes out November 2nd for the 360, PS3 and PS2 and November 16th for Wii.

So if you have the Rock Band drum kit, can you get the cymbals?

So I can't get them? Great... so much for early adopting.

Are the cymbals extra peripherals you must buy to add to your RB2 drum set?

YES!

Great songs included, too. You Shook Me All Night Long and Shoot to Thrill...I've been wanting to play those two for a long while.

Excellent.

The AC/DC pack is only 18 songs, and costs $40. That's worse than that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith s**t. At least that had like, 40 songs on it. Seriously, it's a god damn rip off, and AC/DC have just proven to me that they're complete sell outs. Also, it's just their last live album, and it's all with their new singer, who sucks at doing Bon Scotts stuff.
