Official Rulk Thread

He's saying that you're the spokesperson for Haterade.

It is getting hard to defend the quality of Loeb's books. While I want to get excited for the Loeb/Sale collaboration, there just isn't any reason for me to get excited... Loeb needs to team up with another writer. Let Loeb pump out some great ideas and have someone else write them.

I was super pumped about the Loeb/Sale team-up; still am. I know that this can be a great comic, and I know that it is waaaay to early to be abandoning ship just yet. His [Loeb] writing may be, in my opinion, slipping, but he didn't get where he's at by being a crappy writer. It'll pick up.

He just ain't been right since his kid died.

Who would be? Do you have kids? I do. If any one of my kids died, I don't think I would be the same either. Something like that would/could affect anything and everything that you do. Especially if you are in a business like comic books. I don't think that comment was in very good taste.

Anubis himself isn't in very good taste. If we could eat him, he would probably taste like dead bunnies.

This is true. Though I taste more like rancid, dead bunnies.

I'm not s**ting on the guy, but it's true. There was a sharp decline in the quality of his work when he got sick, and it's gotten worse since he died. I just feel he should have taken a break.

Agreed. His choices will have an effect on his work and we'll have to kinda weather that with him, but I'm not going to write him off. It'll just take some time. Maybe he'll come to a point where he realizes that he needs a break and let somebody else come in for a while. That, of course, is a pretty big gamble as well.

You guys are cracking me up with all this Jeph Loeb talk. I mean, there are MUCH worse writers out there, writing monthly comics. The level of criticism on Loeb here is a little much.

Well, I wouldn't know about his Red Hulk run, I decided not to bother picking that s**t up when it was first solicited. But I did check out Ultimates, and some of Fallen Son, and every issue of Superman/Batman he was on after that first, awesome arc.

I think it's moved from criticism to discussion now.

According to beast boy it's an evil twin.

Name three Marvel writers who put out comics as poorly written (dialogue, plotting, characterization) as Ultimates 3, Hulk, or Onslaught Reborn.

Daniel Way, Reginald Hudlin, Brian Michael Bendis, Bob Gale, Gregg Hurwitz, Mark Millar. Oh wait, was that too many?

Is Hudlin really that bad? I don't read BP, but while the consensus seems to be that he's not as good as Priest, he's not terrible either.

Is anyone bad? It's all subjective. I've tried a few times to get into his BP and I just can't. There are times when I couldn't even finish the issue.

I gave up during his first arc, when he seemed to be trying to rewrite T'Challa's entire history from the ground up.

Give me a break. Bendis, Gale, and Millar as bad as Loeb? You may not like them, but nothing they've done is as bad as Ultimates 3 or Onslaught Reborn. I would also put Hulk in there too, but you seem like to the brain-numbing story so far.

And who the hell is Hurwitz?

How is his not liking Bendis, Gale, and Millar any different from your not liking Loeb? Is your opinion inherently somehow superior to everyone else's?
