Official Rulk Thread

One of the first comics I ever remember getting was a gray Hulk issue from my cousin. It had the gray Hulk fighting these yellowy zombie skeleton things and the cover was a close-up of a bony hand on the gray Hulk's face.
Ah, yes. I remember that cover well.

Heres the cover to the issue I was referring to. Cant say for sure if this was the first comic book I read with the Hulk in it, but I do remember being somewhat confused as to why he was Gray, and decidedly more intelligent than what I always knew of the Hulk at the time. But I liked it. And I'll always prefer Mercy's original interpretation over the more recent "Ultimate Destruction" version.

So we're gonna be seeing the grey Hulk appear in the next issue of Hulk. Thats pretty cool we haven't seen the grey hulk in a while. Maybe Hulk is going backwards from WWHulk to Dumb Hulk to Grey Hulk.

Doc Samson always had a love for superheroes that is what he sees himself as, that is why his powers manifested the way they did compared to Banner, She-Hulk, the Leader, etc...
He has never really made it to the A-list and he can never seem to beat the Hulk, deep down he sees himself as a failure. He has a monster lurking inside that has been growing since he became Doc Samson. Every failed attempt to bring in the Hulk has fueled this Monster.
Samson is a shrink, stereotypically shrinks can deal with other peoples problems but have trouble solving there own.

good theory.:):):)

Same reason Spidey returned to his Black Costume briefly...just because?

no kidding, but story-wise there was a reason for him going back to black. So capt. obvious what I'm saying is, story-wise why do you think he has reverted to Gray Hulk.

Where does it say the Gray Hulk is coming back?

Really if he just stuck with the Hulk who came out of Planet Hulk, there would be no need for that personality. However, I can see reason for it given how the Hulk appeared to have lost the perspnality he had during WWH.

Wow. Did anyone read Monster size Hulk? Dude can take down Thor and the Avengers but can't beat a werewolf. I won't tell you how it ended but the fight is very similiar to the Hulk/Batman fight. Bad. Freaking. Writing.

I have not even recieved the latest issue of Hulk  let alone read the monster size one, but how in the hell does he get defeated by a werewolf and who wrote it.

Well, at least I know not to pick this up now...

Oh yeah, and Hulk 7 comes out next week.

Some people just can't let it go. It's like the comic equivalent of cutting yourself. :o

Let's put it this way, would you keep up with Thor even if it turned into a crap-fest? Now, I'm not saying that I'm going to keep buying it but I can't help but keep reading it. I'm a Hulk fan-boy, after all.

Yeah, I suppose I'd read Thor in the shop. I don't think Thor's ever been quite as abominable as Loeb's Hulk series, though.

Yeah, probably not. At least there's Skaar though.

Well the book was written by Steve Niles and it was basically a one shot so I got it. I want you guys to just read the Hulk by night story when he goes up against the werewolf and how he got beat.......hell I'm going to say it: he got choked out by a freakin werewolf! When has the Hulk ever been choked out?! The Hulk and Thor have been Marvel's whipping boys after returning to the stable after a somewhat absence.

I have that issue. They were in Nevada, and the Grey Hulk got beat twice by Werewolf. Werewolf then got tossed halfway across the desert.
