I rather like the more feral weapons and clothing of these Goblins- it seems appropriate since they are effectively the hillbillies of their race.

One question, though: why are they pink? Tolkien tended to describe them as coal black and, though I can see why that isn't politically acceptable nowadays, green or grey would seem a better substitute to me. The raw chicken colour makes them look like they are of the same species as Gollum.

I really, really hope they didn't change the end for the Goblin King.

Perhaps as mountain dwellers like Gollum, they don't get much light?

Yeah, but they were created in darkness, in the pits of Utumno. They are naturally nocturnal, and sunlight burned the skin of all but the Uruk-hai super breed.

Gothmog was also pink, and I remember finding that a bit odd.

Edit: I thought these Orcs, from FOTR, were almost perfect:

The films have showed there are plenty of different looking Goblins/Orcs. As this is the Hobbit and they are known as Goblins, they can be seen as a slightly different race.

Yecch, that Goblin King will be one I won't be buying. Like I need to have an action figure with swaying man-boobs. :(

Ok, Bolg is f***ing great. Also, his beard is longer than Thorin's... just saying.

Cool. Jackson's one is the best of course, but I've got to say that "Goloom" from the 1966 crappy cartoon is definitely the creepiest one.

You don't have the coveted Ray Winstone one yet?

so are they making 6inch figures aswell as the smaller figures ?

I'd love to see real life figures of The Hobbit characters like we've seen for The Avengers.

Bolg looks pretty ****ing sweet.

My guess is Bolg will fight gandalf in the batle of dol guldur instead of the BOFA. They will switch his character with azog his father, Azog will be commanding the orc/goblin armies in the battle of five armies. I won't judge his look until I see a clearer picture of him, I don't know about the beard though its the first orc I've seen with a beard lol

So all the action figures are going to be sold in 2s? In particular pairing new characters with characters I already have from the first LOTR movies?

That's Sauron-level evil there. :(

That Warg is very sexy, but "Fimbul" really sounds too soft for an Orc name. You could put it in a group with Feanor, Thingol and Tinuviel.

The end of October, I believe.
