It looks silly as does Radagast really but there should be a degree of silliness and whimsy to this film so scenes like this do actually kind of make sense.
Saruman The White
Gandalf The Grey
Radagast The Not Giving A ****

There is actually some truth to that statement. My mother used to dress me in a sailor outfit for church when I was a small child :csad:.

Mom has a pic of me in a small light blue and white polyester onesie thing. It's awful.

edit: Watched new trailer. Love!

I liked the trailer overall. I think the major complaint is not the tone or the footage itself, but the lack of a narrative throughline along with the meh editing. While you get that the dwarves want to reclaim what's theirs, you don't know why or who they are (if you're the public.) With the editing, I agree with Slashfilm.com: I think Jackson's trying to hold back on showing too much, hence why it seems like you're repeating the three-four scenes again and again.

Other than that, I liked it.

I liked the trailer, dont see what peoples problem is with it, the story looks lighter than LOTR, and so it should be, as this is how its portrayed in the books.

There is no lingering threat this time or a mission to destroy something that threatens everyone, its just all about the adventure, and the trailer portrayed that for me, looking forward to December even more now.

I don't think SOME people are meh of it because of it's tone or scope; it's probably due to the editing.

The spectacle of it seems fine, really. It is edited a bit strangely, but that won't bear on the film itself. Kili the sissy Dwarflet actually acts in a somewhat Dwarfish manner, which is encouraging. One niggle I have, which also applied to LOTR, is that the cuts to Gandalf/Galadriel/Elrond looking grave/stern/constipated are a bit awkward and potentially slightly funny.

The trailer feels like it is missing an beginning & then the end of the trailer clearly feels like it was setting up for the usual 30 seconds or so big epic finish. Its just random

At 1.10, is that an Orc that is fighting Bilbo? If so, I prefer the design to the Moria Orcs of LOTR.

Moria Orcs were goblins. (Not that there's any difference in the books).

Btw, I liked the trailer, except for a few things. The huge amount of green screen is one of these. Doesn't look as "real" as the trilogy. But maybe it's just the trailer, I don't know.

Hey look, what are Elladan and Elrohir doing at Bilbo's doo- oh wait.

Gollum looks younger and less nasty btw. After all, The Hobbit is set before he took the bad habit of eating children...

I like the trailer, some scenes had me smiling. I'm still wondering how three films will work here, but i'm keeping an open mind.

Even though I found the first trailer "better" on an objective basis, today's trailer better reflects the spirt of the movie, insofar as the spirit of the book is concerned.

Still no decent/official shots of Tauriel yet.:( Guess we will get plenty though next year.

Not a fan of the glossy look. And this looks really cgi-heavy. The other trilogy is already starting to show its age .

Yeah, a bit too many cgi locations, and not all the creature cgi looks that great. The cgi bunnies pulling radagast and the scene in his house had quiet a bit of questionable cgi. The orcs and the scenes of them running on the bridges was very cgi as well. Here is hoping all that looks way better by Decemeber. Oh, and I'm in agreement with those who said this trailer didn't give them an epic feeling. It just seemed awkward or sort of lifeless compared to the first trailer.
