OFFICIAL: Theatrical Trailer Thread

Trailer looks amazing.

The SS bits look like they'll easily steal the show, and the Doom-SS Faceoff looks interesting.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed. That was a pretty damn sweet trailer. They didn't give away too much of the film, which I hope they'll keep on doing, and it's clear that not all of the money shots have been completely wasted just for the sake of it, but it's probably the deep breath before the plunge. Even hidden under his cape, Doom got me seriously revved up. Mere words cannot describe what I felt during his scenes with the Surfer, whose voice sounded like music to my ears in the trailer and rightfully should. Although, I do feel a tad disappointed that Doug is out of the spotlight in the voice department yet again for the umpteenth time. Give that man his due already. But we got Morpheus, so I can't really complain. It's like losing a cent and finding a dollar. All in all, it seems to be the perfect trailer for the perfect summer blockbuster, and a sign of great things to come if the trailer alone is anything to go by. This, as well as the teaser, should be proof enough that they're coming back with a big bang, better than ever.

If, of course, they were trying to sugarcoat its true mediocrity within the film by showing things that would usually make everyone soil in our pants, then my only warning to Fox is to run and hide... for their heads will be inevitably put on pikes if that's really the case. I'm hoping not...

I was VERY doubtful about this film at first but HOLY $%%^&^!!! THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE FREAKIN AWESOME, ARE U KIDDING ME!!!!

The graphics are very impressive!

Regarding the "switching powers" thing: I'm VERY surprised that they included those scenes in the trailer.

It's not a big part of the story (though it does play a key role at one point) I can't imagine that they devote more than 5 minutes screen time to it tops.

When I sent summaries of the story to people, I intentionally left that detail out figuring that would be a little surprise for them in the film.

I really have no idea why they chose to show it in the trailer.

So, basically Johnny will have all of the FF's powers at some point. Not to be a negative ninny, but that sort of takes away from a potential sequel with the Super-Skrull.

That being said, it was a pretty good trailer, while it didn't exactly make me ecstatic about the movie, it did look cool.

I've never been much of a Skrull fan myself.

. . . so that wouldn't really bother me.

I think they put it in Willie, for the humor factor.....

I think they put it in Willie, for the humor factor.....

Exactly.

That was really the only scene that showed the four in a casual theme. The audiences need to be reminded that the FF are a family and that funny scene accomplished that--because 99% of the rest of the trailer was darker and more serious in tone...

Okay that officially kicked my ass!!!!! DAYUM!!! I  it! I'll do my review later but a couple of things:

1.) That's definitely Lawrence's voice--I'd recognize it anywhere
2.) I love the ominous mystique surrounding Dr. Doom. PERFECTLY executed
3.) Invisible Woman is looking incredible

According to the publicist that IS NOT LF's voice.....I for one am glad, because I think LF can do better....LF has not begun work yet on the voice....

Well what do you know?
From Harry at AICN:
"I don't think I can possibly explain how geeked out I am by this trailer. I'm a hardcore FANTASTIC FOUR geek - and I hope everything that I've heard about this film is a baldface lie. I pray to God that it blows me complete the **** away. I love this trailer. It looks like a real honest to goodness FANTASTIC FOUR movie."

Amazing.....:cwink:

I guess so. It just seems that they could have chosen from 50 other scenes to do the same thing.

I guess I've been so careful with what I've said over the past few weeks trying not to give away the surprises, I was taken aback when the studio chose to give that one away.

Though I am sort of happy that they left a lot of other very juicy moments out of the trailer.:woot:

This trailer was genius in that it showed the grand scale of the story without ruining a lot of the plot. Or showing other cool things that they could have.

The trailer was a hell of a lot better than I expected.

Surfer looks like he might be able to drag F4 from mediocre (but fun) status to something a whole better.

Hmmm, I gotta say, I´m not sure how I feel... Okay, I´ll admit Johnny looking like The Thing is funny... But it felt to me like it didn´t add much to the teaser or the TV spot... It definitely looks like it has a better handle on FX and action than the first, but other than that, I can´t really say if I feel it´s going to be much better or not... It´s not crap, but it didn´t really blow me away either...

This trailer alone is better than the entire first film, in my opinion.
I sent the link to over a dozen friends/associates who are comics fans and/or professionals, and everyone who's reported back so far was blown away.

Really enjoyed the trailer. It really had an epic feel to it as it presented a threat on a global scale... rather than just Dr. Doom terrorizing the FF in NYC.

Couple of points...

On the power switching theme:
In a fairly recent (last 2 years) story, Reed was able to transfer the powers between Sue and Johnny because they were siblings and had shared genetics. If I recall correctly, that was the reason he gave to Ben for not switching powers with him to give Ben his human form back.

On the cosmic storm that gave them their powers being a byproduct of Galactus and/or the Silver Surfer:

I'm pretty sure that was once used as the reason for them gaining their powers either in the Heroes Reborn universe or in the 90's FF cartoon series. I can clearly remember a scene showing them investigating a cosmic disturbance at the time of their accident that later turns out to be related to the Silver Surfer. There have been several instances where Reed or another scientist has wondered why they were given cosmic powers with all the other space travel that's been going on through the years in the Marvel Universe.

I can only think of 3 groups affected in a similar manner from the Marvel U... the FF, the Red Ghost and his Apes, and the U-Foes.

Hey all I am doing a re edit of the music in this trailer. I hae all the sfx & dialogue kept I just think the music wasnt epic enough but I am going to fix that. Nothing is going to be changed but the music :cwink:

Lol at Johnny becoming rocky Johnny.

Awesome at super Johnny.

From final fight. Has rocky hand like super skrull.
