Since Vladimir Kulich is too old for Thor it would be pretty cool to have him as Odin.

I like Simon Baker for Fandral.

Christopher Eccleston would make a great Loki.

Jouni Hynynen (the guy in the middle).

Hehe, not really. He just kinda looks like Thor.

Okay, just watching Lost, and Josh Holloway reminds me of Thor. The Ultimate Thor though, but I think he could pull the original just as well.

Better then Karl Urban for sure!

Nah, if Josh gets a shot at any comic adaptation it should be Jonah Hex.

McKidd Confirms Thor Rumors

Kevin McKidd, star of NBC's upcoming time-travel series Journeyman, confirmed for SCI FI Wire—sort of—rampant rumors that he may play the title character in a big-screen version of the Marvel comic book Thor.

Speaking in a conference call on Sept. 6, McKidd (HBO's Rome) called the reports "semi-true." "I didn't know about it either until I heard the rumors and I called my agent," McKidd said. "And he went, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've been talking to them about it.' But the last I heard from my agent, they're talking that they want to go for somebody much younger, a 19- or 20-year-old, for that role. So they're reconceptualizing it as we speak."

Matthew Vaughn (Stardust) is set to direct Thor for Marvel Studios, and he reportedly wants McKidd, whose credits include The Last Legion, for the lead role of the God of Thunder.

Even if a younger actor were to play Thor, McKidd hastened to add, he might still appear in the project. "I think there's the other main male character in that movie that I'm in consideration for," the Scottish actor said. "But, certainly by no means it's not in the bag or anything and, to be honest, until I read a script I don't really know. I haven't really had a look at a script. This is all still just information that's coming in. So, you know, it could be fun, but it just depends on what's on the page. I think it all starts and finishes with the quality of the script."

Journeyman premieres Sept. 24 and will air Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.) —Ian Spelling

So Vaughn is thinking a younger Thor? That's interesting. 19 or 20??? That changes everything and could give the franchise longevity. Hmmmm. So Vaughn wants McKidd and Marvel wants Triple H but they want 19-20??? Something isn't adding up.

The Triple H rumor was probably BS. From what I know, in the script both Thor and Loki are written as young, in their early 20s.

i'm thinking its actually the producers who want a young'n. I'm all for Kevin Mckidd, great actor, and his voice is absolutely perfect for the role, at least his voice in Rome anyway, i'm guessing he has a scottish accent in real life

I have the perfect casting for Thor:

Adam Baldwin!!!

adam_baldwin_99.jpg

He's 6'4!!!, has a great build and is a great actor, not to mention if you gave his some long blonde hair, he would look just like THOR!!!:wow:

I Forgot this guy. 6ft4 is good but you know what? I ain't gay but Thor is not an ugly man and Adam baldwin....hum hum!

Actor Kevin McKidd Confirms Thor Rumors

But adds that he won't play the title role.
by Travis Fickett and Stax

September 6, 2007 - IGN took part in a conference call today for the forthcoming NBC time travel television series Journeyman during which actor Kevin McKidd confirmed the recent reports linking him to the big-screen version of Marvel Comics' Thor.
When asked if there was any truth to the rumor that he's up for the role of Thor, actor Kevin McKidd said, "It's semi-true. I actually didn't know anything about it until I heard the rumors and called my agent and he said, 'Yeah, we're talking to them.'"
However, it looks like that possibility has become more remote as, according to McKidd, "They want to go for someone younger for the role, a 19 or 20 year old."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! McKidd wasn't a favorite of mine. But a 19 year old THOR?!!! :cmad:

What the Hell are they smoking? Have they read any Thor comics? He's a damn hardcore warrior God. Blake is not a kid either.

I don´t like the idea of Kid playing Thor, he´s not big enough and just doesn´t strike me as being a Norse god.

That said, he´s a better choice then some kid! Marvel should be casting someone at least 26-30 years of age for this role.

right 19-20 is definitely to young for Thor......Thor should be in his prime as a Warrior not Younger as 28-30.

Ryan Phillippe will set sail with Abbie Cornish and Sean Bean in the new Viking epic 'Last Battle Dreamer' directed by Menno Meyjes. Ryan will star as a seventh-century Viking warrior named Thorfinn who, along with his older brother, the battle-scarred Hakon (Sean Bean), invades Britain. Meyjes describes 'Dreamer' as 'a love story written in fire and blood.' It is scheduled to shoot later this year.

This sounds more intresting than the real Thor movie!

Maybe they're casting a young Thor for part of the film.

One of my myspace buds suggested John Robinson from Lords of Dogtown for a younger Thor. Maybe 1/3 through the film they move forward to the older Thor. Who knows? This film will probably be a long one. They had young actors portray Blade, Daredevil, Johnny Blaze, Conan, etc...for the origin part of the films.
