Fandral or Thor, I would actualy prefer Thor because this guy is an amazing actor with more talent than almost anyone on the poll list. It would be great to see him leading a role for a change.

Skars has switched talent agencies
I'm told that CAA has signed Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (star of Showtime's The Tudors) and Alexander Skarsgård (touted as in the running to be Marvel Studio's Thor). Both actors were previously with Endeavor.
SOURCE

Here's El Mayimbe's take on the switch
So Alexander Skarsgard leaves Endeavor for CAA. Didn't follow old agent to Gersh. CAA must be making promises (Thor) when they signed him.
SOURCE
CAA doesnt take an up & comer like Skarsgard unless he was on verge of booking something huge like Thor. Same thing happened to Jackie Earle
SOURCE
Jackie Earle leaves Gersh for CAA, next thing you know he books a pilot & Freddy role. I'll bet my left nut that svengali CAA gets him Thor.

Make it happen, Marvel :cmad:

I'm praying here. Hope El Mayimbe's right in his speculations.

As always, thanks for the info, Chewy!

Hunnam Talks Thor

Hunnam confirmed that he has indeed screen-tested for the role of the god of thunder. He has only shot one screen test so far, and when asked if it involved running around with a helmet and a hammer, he replied with a smile, "Something like that."

Hunnam didn't know what the status of the casting was but said that his people have been talking to Marvel. He believes that since Marvel pushed the start date of Thor back a few months the studio is taking its time to make the best decision for the film.

Damn, so Hunnam has actually screentested for the role? Does this mean he's overtaken Skarsgard as the front-runner?

Or could it be that Skarsgard screen-tested too, but kept quiet about it, and his discretion on the subject has in fact pushed him even further into the lead? ;)

Sons of Anarchy will soon be debuting on UK TV, and I have Generation Kill on DVD to watch. So I'll be able to offer my verdict on both actors soon...

I'm obviously still rooting for Skars big tim on this one but I concede that Hunnam has a good 'Thor look' in Sons of Anarchy.

I havent seen a great deal of his work but I would hope that he was given a voice coach should he get the gig as his accent in Green Street was atrocious.

Seriously, really really atrocious.

Should they decide that Thor needs a 'Nordic twang' the last thing we need is an actor with a pi$$ poor accent.

Ha. I was thinking the same thing.

Not seen Green Street, but how could his English accent suck, when he's actually English? :oldrazz:

Only thing I've seen him in is Queer As Folk, where he played a timid, sensitive young gay schoolboy, who got a good rimming from Mayor Carcetti from The Wire. Which is maybe why I'm finding it difficult to imagine him as Thor. ;) But hey, acting's all about versatility...

His Cockney accent sucked, Keyser.

You Scots may all sound the same but we English have varying different accents. :oldrazz: (I'm only joking of course - just in case you think I'm serious. I mean, my nans from Motherwell and my 'ex' is from Glasgow).

Nah, I'm just concerned as the only time I've seen CH do an accent, it was Dick Van Dyke 'mockney' bad.

I watched O last night (modern-day Othello adaptation with Josh Hartnett as Iago). Hartnett didn't really impress me, but he wasn't terrible. I guess I wouldn't be completely disappointed if he were chosen to play Loki. He should never be let anywhere near the Thor role, though.

Skars is still me Top choice But Hunham is a damn goodchoice as well thanks for the news Chewy and ice79

I like Hunnam on SoA. I think he's getting better and better with every episode. But, he's no Skarsgård! Another role in the movie would be cool though.

Alexander Skarsgård is my top choice, but I'd not be overly disappointed with Hunnam in the role.
