Blessed to me would feel more like the God of God's than branagh would
Brian Blessed's voice alone is enough to warrant a role of a God.
I think he'd do it well but I don't think he is going to. A few weeks before Hemsworth and Hiddleston were cast Kevin Feige said that they were actively looking for actors to play Loki and Odin, which would be unnecessary if Branagh was going to take on the role himselfI hope Branagh plays Odin.
Was there ever an "Official" announcement that Hemmsworth was signed to play Thor? Until then... I still hold out hope for Skars!!
Rage

I just think its odd that his casting was "leaked" but we haven't heard anything official, yet we have heard other official casting already. Doesn't that set anyone elses spidey senses tingling??
And Louie... The Picard pic? Ouch!!
Rage

And the Hemsworth article features an update that "officially" confirms it
Funny you should mention the Rourke and Johansson articles, as those two "official" confirmations came from the exact same source as Hemsworth's confirmation

UPDATE: Variety confirms that Hemsworth is in final negotiations for the role of Thor, and Nikki says that Marvel will be releasing a press release announcing the casting, as well as other casting for the movie sometime tonight
That IS the announcement. There is no point in a press release after an actor and/or director is announced as being in final negotiations, as that is seen as confirmation There was never a press release for any of the Iron Man 2 actors (sans Downey and Cheadle), as they were announced elsewhere.
The contract hasn't taken this long, it is signed, sealed, delivered at this point. But when they put out their press release for Hiddleston, Hemsworth's deal was still being finalized, so he wasn't included. There is no point in putting out a press release after Hemsworth's final negotiations concluded, as it is redundant and a waste of time/resources/effort. Everyone already knows he is playing Thor. They put out the Hiddleston press release because word had not yet gotten out that he was in the role when they wrote it up

And there lies your problemI just went to IMDB.com and searched Thor. Funny, they had Helmsworth cast as Thor but Sam Jackson and Tom Hiddleston (rumoured) ....![]()
