Not a bad choice but fellow Scandinavian actors Alexander Skarsgard (Stellan's son) and Johann Urb have more of a Thor look to them. I could definitely see Nikolaj as Balder though.

I'd say that this is the toughest casting job they'll have, including Captain America.

Hell, it would be great if we could sew Urb's head onto HHH's body and stuff Sean Bean's brain into it.

Anyone notice that Loki is so much easier to cast? You could ask ten different fanboys who should play Loki, and get back ten different choices, all of them perfect.

Because there are plenty of skinny long faced actors who could do crazy and maniacal really well. The number of tall blonde actors who can do majestic and godlike really well is a much smaller one.

but too perfect almost. He's a little too obvious and villainous-looking to pull off a role of a back-stapping charmer. But I definitely see the potential. If I didn't know about him then yes definitely!

I would state that there are actually a lot more pretty bodies and faces that can be found out there, than a Loki/Joker type. There's just so much less face/body types that can act, than there are the maniacal types who can act.

Dude. You apparently haven't learned anything about forum protocols. Also, you apparently have a stick up your arse, or have no sense of humor. When you quote someone, and alter what they said to fit your thoughts, you put "fixed." It doesn't mean that you disagree with the person you quoted, or are denigrating them in any way.

It's not that strong. I bet he could hide it if given a reason. Or adopt a more Scandinavian dialect. He played a Russian in Eastern Promises, so there's that.

He's suppose to be a god so I'd imagine he'd have some kind of accent. I'm hoping Pitt does indeed get the role and Leonardo plays Cap. Can you imagine Pitt, Downey, Norton, Decaprio, and SLJ on the screen together?! Plus whoever is going to play Antman......I've got no clue who'd get that role.

I can't recall who first suggested Alexander Skarsgard for Thor but after watching him in Generation Kill, he's hands down my favorite for the part. Great actor and the guy towers over the other actors around him.

That's the ultimate hammer, which I don't really like.

Back on topic... Skarsgard is a very good suggestion... VERY. He is a bit lean... but he is young and looks athletic, so I am sure that he can buff up. He is 6'4" so he has the height, and he has the look.

Plus, how awesome would it be to have his actual father play his Asgardian father:
